I think he met up with Bradley and saw how big he is and said fuck that! I love JMM but I think this is it for him, especially seeing that Bradley is not scared to throw down. Bradley has a style thats dirty enough for Mayweather too so who knows what the future holds for 147lbs but JMM is not in it. If Arum and Mayweather do come to make a deal, I do see Bradley having a bigger chance than Pac for a fight. Bradley also has a 0 on his record so this really can move him up on the p4p list as well

Being big means nothing when your fighting a guy like Marquez. Hes a slick fighter who puts combinations together well, the old version of him anyways. Marquez got big himself he might knockout Bradley. I obviously dont care for Manny but Manny probably has more power then Bradley.

Probably? There is no question he does. Bradley doesn't have a whole lot of power. He has that body builder like body, but he can't really punch for shit. I mean he's got some decent pop like any boxer should, but he aint really hurting anybody. He's just one of those guys that gives it his all every fight, usually out-works, out hustles or out muscles guys.

So are people going to ignore the Marquez Bradley situation? This potentially could scrap the fight. Also JMM said he agreed to both VADA and USADA testing before the fight. I dont get his rehydration clause he suddenly wants Bradley to have. Bradley is a small welterweight just like JMM.
I guess Marquez is like me when it comes to that rehydration bullshit. However I dont agree with him in this case because like 206 said Bradley is a small welterweight also. Got Em!!

Paulie Malignaggi and Adrien Broner got in some more verbal shots at today's weigh-in in Brooklyn, and also made weight for tomorrow night's WBA welterweight title fight, live on Showtime from the Barclays Center.

Malignaggi (32-4, 7 KO) weighed in at 146.4 to defend his title, with Broner (26-0, 22 KO) at 146.8. Showtime's Steve Farhood got thoughts from both fighters just after they stepped off the scales and had their staredown moment.

"He needs a burger. He looks hungry," Broner said, theorizing that Malignaggi had trouble making weight. "I'm gonna fuck him up, then I'm gonna take him to get something to eat later."

Malignaggi pointed out Broner's "nervous smile" repeatedly, saying he's "like a little kid."

"I'm the best fighter he's fought, amateur or pro," Malignaggi told Farhood. "I'm in the best shape of my career, I feel sharp. Whether there's bad blood or not, we go in there and perform. That's what being a professional is all about."

On the undercard, heavyweights Johnathon Banks and Seth Mitchell came in at 216.6 and 243.8 pounds, respectively. Banks told Farhood he expects to stop Mitchell again, while Mitchell promised that fans would see an improved fighter tomorrow night, as he tries to avenge his loss to Banks from November.

Sakio Bika and Marco Antonio Periban both weighed in at 167.2 pounds for their vacant WBC super middleweight title fight, which will open the Showtime broadcast at 9:00 pm EDT.

MAYWEATHER SR.'S SON, JUSTIN MAYWEATHER JONES, MAKING PRO DEBUT ON JULY 6TH IN GRAND RAPIDS
By Percy Crawford | June 21, 2013

"Training is going well. I'm getting sharper and sharper. I got a whole 'nother week to get sharper and we doing well. This will probably be my only home fight, so I'm debuting here in Grand Rapids. I really don't like how the promoters run their stuff here, so that's probably why it will be my only fight here in Grand Rapids, but other than that, I still wanna do it for my hometown. I'm just happy, man. I'm happy that I'm getting my career started and I think it's going to be a long, long ride and it's just gonna be a part of the legacy," stated the other fighting son of Floyd Mayweather Sr., Justin Mayweather Jones, who is set to begin the journey of his professional career when he turn pro on July 6. Check out what he he had to say!

PC: How is training going for your pro debut my man?

JMJ: Man, training is going real well. I'm just working real hard without injuring myself. We go hard.

PC: For the people that don't know who you are, give us your background.

JMJ: Legally, I am Justin Jones, but now I go by Justin Mayweather Jones. I didn't know who the other side of my family was until I was 19 years old. I didn't know who my father was until I was 19. It's a little backstory on that, as I'm sure you know, but when that came out, a lot of people just started calling me Justin Mayweather. And I'm nice with the hands too, so it was a natural thing and I put it all together now. It's an addition to the name.

PC: Were you boxing before you found out Sr. was your pops or did you pick it up after the fact?

JMJ: Yeah! I was in and out of the boxing gym before I found out. When I was younger, I actually wanted to be a fighter. I remember Mike Tyson blasting people, and he will always be my favorite fighter of all time. It was around that time when I was really into boxing as a kid coming up. Now I'm all about boxing. But Tyson was the most exciting fighter to ever do it, and plus I'm biased because I was a kid and he was popping, and when you're a kid, that sticks with you and it's always gonna kind of be your favorite. To this day, I still feel like he is the most exciting fighter since Ali.

PC: Your pro debut is July 6th. How do you feel? How is everything coming together?

JMJ: I've been doing fine. Training is going well. I'm happy that I'm getting my career started and I think it's going to be a long, long ride and it's just gonna be a part of the legacy, you know what I mean?

PC: Definitely. Do you use the "Mayweather Style" or do you bring something different to the table, and who are you working with out there?

JMJ: I'm working with Larry Nicholson and my man Steve. They are fine trainers. And I also don't want to forget the people that helped me during my amateur career and that's Adam Mayweather and Johnny Battles; they helped me a lot. They were kind of taught under my father when he was back here, so I learned a lot of what my dad knew through them. I don't ever want to forget about Adam Mayweather and Johnny Battle, who helped me in the beginning.

PC: What weight class are you competing at for this fight and where do you feel you will make your mark?

JMJ: This fight, and probably my next 2 or 3, will be at 147 pounds. I eventually think I'm gonna make my mark at 140, but we will see how that turns out. But right now, I am a welterweight.

PC: What can the people in attendance expect from you?

JMJ: Boxing ability; just a natural born boxer with a punch, you know what I mean? I'm a boxer-puncher and I got the skills to pay the bills, so get them tickets and you gonna see what's happening, man. Not to say it like this, but honestly, it's definitely in the bloodline. Everybody that sees me knows it's just natural. I got a lot of natural ability and I gotta thank God for giving me a chance to be blessed with a certain type of genetics and instincts that I have along with my family. I understand that this is stuff that's passed down from generation to generation and each generation it gets stronger. The instincts become more and more stronger. I just gotta thank God and my family for blessing me with the genetics and opportunity to make this thing happen and better myself for the people that I care about.

PC: You say you only plan on fighting in Grand Rapids once, but will you also be looking to move to the west coast to resume training soon as well?

JMJ: I expect to eventually, within the next year, move to the west coast. I'm just basically starting my mark here and then gonna branch out. I'm going to be on the west coast in the next year or so because I need to be in a big city. There are a lot of bright lights on the west coast and a lot of action and that's where I wanna be headed and that's my goal. I'm gonna achieve it.

PC: Is the goal to eventually have your pops train you or you haven't given it much thought because he's hinted at retiring soon as well?

JMJ: We always think about that and talk about it. It's something that has been ongoing and talked about for a long time, but we will just see what the future holds. The Mayweather's are the best trainers in the world, so I don't have no problem working with them. But timing is everything and it will be a blessing to learn more things from them all of the time. I stay talking to my uncle Jeff a lot and it will be great. We will see how it works out. With or without, I feel like I'm gonna be a big name in entertainment period because I also have the music thing going on and different things. They are the best and I would love to have the opportunity to work with them, but if time don't permit it, then other people have become world champions without the Mayweathers in their corner. But I understand who the best is and I would love the opportunity to get down there and work with them. If I work hard, I can be the best and that's what I plan on doing.

PC: Jeff is my man and good people.

JMJ: Jeff is a great, great, great person and I love my uncle to death.

PC: I look forward to seeing a lot from you. I wish you the best on the 6th of July. Is there anything else you want to add?

JMJ: July 6th, man, is the start of something big and the legacy continues and it's going to keep going, man. Come out and support me and boxing in general and we just gonna keep going from there. The fight is in Grand Rapids, Michigan at 5/3 Ballpark; gates open at 6 and the fights start at 7 and I will be on the card and hopefully it will be quick work for me so I can go on about my business and party afterwards.

As the lineal champion at 160, Martinez has an obligation to fight the top guys or retire. If he just had a meaningless title or whatever, sure fight whoever. But he's the man at 160
since when is this the rule? People don't do this crap in boxing all the time. They make money fights and fights they want to take. At his age and getting his money so late in his career, you shouldn't be at all surprised by this especially since he's wanted to fight Cotto for quite awhile now.

He doesn't punch correctly at all. A lot of boxers don't but that doesn't help his cause. But look at guys like Malignaggi, he actually looks kinda buff at times and is always ripped, can't punch his way through rice paper. Technique has a lot to do with it, bone density, forearm strength, speed etc... It's about putting all those things together.

Bradley has a knack of turning it up when he has to when the fight is close. He's in crazy good shape and does as well late as he does early in terms of strategy and output because of that conditioning. He fought at a heavier weight in the amateurs. Marquez shouldn't be concerned. Bradley being heavier on fight night actually works in his favor.

It's not a rule but fans and media must hold top fighters accountable. This isnt just prize fighting its a sport. He's not some 45 year old fighter he's 37 and is the #1 best middleweight in the world. It's 100% unacceptable if he fights Cotto next.

Bernard Hopkins was 47 years old and everyone knew Hopkins was too old for the style and athleticism of Chad Dawson, but Hopkins was the lineal champ and had the obligation to fight Dawson and he did. If he didn't everyone would have called him a ducker despite his old age. Martinez doesn't get a pass just because he struggled against his last opponent. If Golovkin beats Macklin and Sergio doesn't fight him it's a clear duck and hurts his reputation and career.

Bradley is going to give Marquez hell. And Bradley does have good punching power to the body he slowed Manny down by beating up his body. And for the last time Manny did not beat Bradley losing all the championship rounds (9-12 rds). I'm sick of people saying Manny beat Bradley because it's not true.

Lol I will mark your words down. Bradley ain't stopping no one. Besides shot to shit Casamayer, when was the last time Bradley knocked someone down, let alone scored a KO?

I dont know why you have to lie and say Bradley has good power. It's impressive he wins without KO power. Shoot Hopkins hasn't had a KO in nearly a decade, he wins by pure skill. No one has to lie and say Hopkins is a banger.
