i agree wit bay savagewhy jus cause its for whites its racist they got all black colleges they got black history month they got bet n all that other shit but if whites tried to make an all white college or sum shit it would be considered racist i find it stupid
I personally dont care if they want to give an all caucasion scholarship but do it because you want to, not because you see black/asian/latino people getting one..
lol..If you want to keep it real White people own everything, so when a miniority race finally owns 1 thing it is made a big deal about...Every race is always looking for media/society outlets that represent their race and background..White people dont worry about that because they are on every channel dominating air time and society as a whole..Can you really argue against that?
You brought up BET...black people dont even own BET..yeah it supposed to be catered to the black audience but even if that is the case, you still have white people dominating EVERY other channel but yet you want to complain about black people kind of/sort of having BET..:dead:
Yeah black people have black history month now we are special..White people are the history of America and that is what they teach..Mainly white public schools(or even schools that are filled with minority students) dont go into dept about minority accomplishments, one reason is because there is not enough time in a given semester and 2 some of the teachers/professors arent educated in minority history anyway. There are definitely more reasons but I dont have time to get into those...I dont see anything wrong with minority people wanting to own something in this country especially when popular shows and major decisions dont necessarily represent their voice and culture..
yeah there are Historically Black Colleges and Universities, BUT anyone is welcomed to apply for those schools and different races are accepted as well..My boy is Mexican and he attends Morehouse College which is a HBCU where MLK jr. and Spike Lee went..At least at those schools those minorities(or whoever attends) will get different points of views and learn more than just the history of white America...I feel saddened to say that I didnt even know about Marcus Garvey and what he did for black people until I reached college because his name was never taught to me in school..This has a lot to do with the education system in America. I hate the fact that MLK Jr. is the ONLY black person that is talked about in America like he is the only person who did anything for black people and civil rights in general...I went to a mexican/asian dominated grade school all the way to high school but even Cesar Chavez wasnt talked about much and no Asian person was ever talked about in school..I dont agree with that..something is wrong there...
Im sorry but it's obviously not a concern for American education as we know it today to teach the history of other minority groups, which is why I applaud HBCU's because they are avenues where African American students can go to learn the in dept knowledge of their history...Let's keep it real, by attending school in America you are unconciously convinced that white people invented everything or are repsonsible for every good thing in the world..
I am far from a racist and I do believe in equality and I am never the type to yell out racism when an obstacle is before me..but at the same time I am not naive either into thinking that we are all equal and white priviledge doesnt exist because it does homie, but I understand that because white people have more power and are larger in numbers than any other race(it would easily be the other way around it roles were different but they arent)..I dont blame any white person of today for slavery and a I treat everyone with respect no matter what race you are..I have close homies who I would ride for any day of the week that are Mexican, white, asisan etc..It's not about race with me but at the same time I am not naive to how society works or have worked in the past..
