I DONT EVEN HAVE A HDTV BUT HOPEFULLY SOON I WILL AND WONT BE AS EXPENSIVE

Pricess are going down fast. By the time the PS3 hits , I'm willing to bet some T.V manufaturer will piggy back on the PS3 launch and drop some prices or introduce a budget HDTV to the market. If they're smart they will. A lot of TV's will be sold.

for hdtvs...........just remember four numbers(& a letter)!!!! 1080p!!!!!

if your hdtv don't support 1080p.......good luck on experiencing the full spectrum of the PS3 your purchased(in the future).

It's not a must have........but since ppl are going to fork out $600 might as well have a surround sound(THX or Dolby Surround) and a hdtv that supports 1080p.........might as well enjoy the whole enchilada instead of getting a bite out of it.

I said i wasnt up to date about blu-ray's backwards compatibility. That doesnt discredit my argument. Just because there is enough room to fit a whole anime series on blu ray, doesnt mean companies will. Its bad business for them. Case in point, most anime dvd sold today only have 3 episodes on them when they could easily have 6 or more. They wont all of a sudden start selling entire series' on one blu ray. Theyll just offer a couple higher quality episodes on one blu ray disc

I think he means stuff like Sopranos too, where you have to change disks every four episodes.. Instead you could have all 13 on one disk...

i think he understands the concept...but it wouldnt be beneficial for companies to do that. why would they want to put all the episodes on one blue ray when they can sell 13 dvds for 20 bucks each. even if they did fit them all and sell them for 100 bucks or something, they wont sell as fast as if you sold them seperatly, people arent willing to drop all that money at once, but if they buy one dvd every other week or something it works out better for them. but me personally i would love to see all my favorite series (especially ones like sopranos) all one disk, that would be dope.

one more point...some anime series have like 50 something episodes. its not like sopranos or any other tv set where you are forced to buy the whole season in a box. most anime series are sold sepertaly for the fact that the whole set would cost you like 300 bucks...so as much as i can see it being a reality for tv series sets, anime is a totally different thing

Well when you buy a SEASON of something...its in ONE package...i.e. Dave Chappelle....all episodes are on 2 disks...so HOW would a company lose money if they just put it on ONE disk???THat doesnt even make sense...its still in ONE package...just LESS disks....THATS MY POINT....

playstation 2 lead the way for folks who never considered buying a DVD player, and Playstation 3 will give Blue-ray an instant installed fanbase.Home video and audio enthusiast (who will be the first to jump on technology) spend $5000.00 on regular Bose DVD entertainment center will think nothing of spending $600.00 bucks on a PS3 when the cheapest H-DVD player is $500.00 bucks

yup, just because the space is there doesnt mean companies will utilize it all. blu ray discs wont hold more episodes, it will hold the same number of episodes as regular dvds but the quality will be higher. Thats the reason behind these new formats. HD video takes up A LOT of space. So NO there wont be complete seasons on one blu ray disc.

what is failed to be mentioned about betamex and VHS is this...the porn industry chose VHS...its a huge industry...so, with that said, whichever format they choose to use will have a very strong hold on the competition
they have already chosen blu-ray......months ago
