The map is from an index I created last spring that compared levels of income, poverty, segregation, suburbanization, education & employment between whites and all minority groups in the USA. Obviously it's highly polarized everywhere when it comes to the status of blacks/latinos compared to whites. But just how wide the gap is varies tremendously. Here's the map for Black-White polarization. If you guys are interested, I can post the map for Latino-White polarization as well.
As you can see, black people have it a HELL of a lot better out West and struggle the most in the Midwest.
Red= > 3x National Average (The Most Polarized)
Orange = 2-3x National Average
Peach = 1.15-2x National Average
Grey = 0.85-1.15x National Average
Light Blue = 0.67-0.85x National Average
Blue = 0.33-0.67x National Average
Dark Blue = 0-0.33x National Average (The Least Polarized)
