^ You re-read the thread dude. Comments about him not being asked to do much and just managing the game. Those people have no idea what they're talking about.

More money than Manning? Uhhh…No!

Ben has succeeded cause he consistently plays with one of the best O-Lines in football…and one of the best Defenses in football.

With all that money they could have re-signed Faneca and upgraded their secondary.
Exactly what I was thinking!!!!!! Faneca made what? 6-7 straight pro bowls?! The passing game starts with the protection. Faneca is still under 30. They should have extended his contract. I think thats one of the worst moves they made by letting him go.

Yeah I guess he has enough money to buy hundreds of helmets now.

It just seems like a lot of the people that responded to this thread need to revise their outdated opinions on both Roethlisberger and Faneca..

The Steelers made the right decision both times..

he's a big QB, good feet, good mechanics, good passer and getting better, still young and most of all has alot of heart and all this proven so young in his career. it's a well deserved and he'll most likely make every penny of the contract. his 1st year he led his team to the afc championship going 15-1 in reg season then won super bowl next year.

Exactly! Also, Big Ben extends the play by escaping defenders which we saw him do alot last year. He is most dangerous outside the pocket! Just ask Bungle, Ratbird and Clown fans about that one. A classic example is during Super Bowl XL on 3rd and 28 against the seachickens when he slid to his left and completed that pass to Hines. Everything about Ben has Pittsburgh written all over him. He is the heart of the franchise and city now! No Steeler fan wanted to lose a great QB like Roethlisberger, because we haven't had one since Bradshaw! The Rooneys made the right decision on letting Faneca go and rewarding Big Ben.

For those who think Pittsburgh had one of the best Offensive Lines last year obviously didn't see any Pittsburgh games. Ben was getting sacked, knocked down, pressured all the time every game. Our left tackle was so fuckin' weak, because I believe Marvel Smith played injured. The O-line just didn't have it down last year. Also, our defense wasn't all that spectacular last season either. I'm not talking about stats either (for the square ass stat nerds before they respond), but the things that don't show up in the stats. I can't believe fools are putting Romo before him when Homo hasn't did shit yet in the playoffs, etc......

1) That photo proves that money=bitches

2) Good for Big Ben, however...

I was rather surprised at the length of the contract and the amount of money they paid him. He was probably sold at 90M, but for some reason got another 30M extra. I can't picture too many other teams in the league paying that type of money for Big Ben. And let us hope he is still a 'developing' QB like some on here seem to believe, because if not then I feel the Steelers invested a shit ton of money into a QB that might not work well as a franchise player. Them mfkrs better build a lot of pass protection around him so he can throw to players other than Ward and feel confident.

He could'nt go anywhere else and be half as good as he is now. He fits the Steelers very well. If they ever trade him you won't hear much from him.
