Anyone who ever saw Young play through most of his career remembers it took him quit a while to settle down mentaly. To much running and not waiting for the play to develope. Aikman had more poise and confidence than Young. Aikman's arm was stronger and more accurate. Steve played for a passing team Aikman for a power run team. That's why hteir stats are different. One focused on passing Jerry Rice All Time leader, the other on Emmitt All Time Leader. Aikman is way more a leader at qb that razzle head Steve ever was. The comparison should be with Joe and Troy.

I think all 9er fans and all cowboy haters would say young and all cowboy fans or 9er haters will say aikman.

IMO montana made the 9ers and got their offense clicking so it was easy for young to make that transition. I think montana is a better qb then both of them, but that aikman was better than young. I always thought young was a good qb, but not great....but then again that's just my opinion

Young:
232 TD's - 107 INT's - 33,124 Yards, 96.8 QB Rating.

Aikman:
165 TD's - 141 INT's - 32,942 Yards, 81.6 QB Rating.

Whoever said Aikman was more accurate was trippin... Young threw 2.16 TD's for every INT he threw.. Aikman threw 1.17 TD's for every INT.. Aikman playes most of his 12 year career.. Steve Young played only about 8 full seasons of his 15 year career...

thats what im sayin, Young just got Montanas left overs, and he was lucky to have montana to work with (before the funkin) I say Aikman cuz he was more accurate and had a stronger arm, Young was good but didnt have those qualities. He had a short passing game and thats why he had more yards/td's then troy. troy had less cuz emmitt was carring the ball all the time.

theres gonna be a non-stop bitchin about this but thats the way i see it, 9ers fans cant admit to the truth, they were both good but Aikman had his squad, not Montanas.
