i completely agree, but check out what siccfucc says

in my opinion all these guys kill all the other rappers mentioned earlier, but i guess if theyre not talking about spinners and money theyre gonna get overlooked
yeah... the thing is that rap is exploited and if the label sees that something is selling, they'll keep going with it until it dies and they'll move on with the next "hot" act. they ain't givin a shit about talent or rap/hip-hop music, period - all they care about is the money. and it's not just rap, this can be r&b, jazz, rock - you name it. and if you think about it, everything is exploited. if someone sees a chance to make money off of something (no matter how simple/evil/dangerous it is), they'll jump right on it like a fumble.
sometimes you'll get a few talented folks that get lucky and make it big, but it's a rare happening. this is why you gotta love people who are in the game for the love of it, because they'll respect the game and be true to themselves.
shit, it seems to me like ladies want to be called "bitches" and be mistreated rather than being treated like queens. and folks would rather listen to some fake ass, "riding on 22's and i wear rocawear and got a platinum grill" type shit. i guess whatever brings business, huh? but you can't blame the folks promoting the shit (the materialistic/womanizing rappers) because they're just victims of the game and don't even know it. shieeeeeeeeeeeet!!!!

...and I would not put Del up there, or the souls of mischief - 93 til' infinity was a classic and no mans land was alright, but when it comes to selecting a bay representative, we'd have to choose someone who 'speaks' the bay
in other words...talks about scrapers, weed, alcohol and how much money they got? thats how you "speak" the bay? dont know about you but i dont have 30's on a hummer and platinum necklaces,so i dont relate to these so-called artists that "speak" the bay that previous ppl have mentioned, and im sure 95% of other ppl do either, not saying im not a fan, just the reality of it...so what exactly do you mean by "speak" the bay? del and souls have been puttin it down for the bay longer than most of the ppl mentioned, sure they dont yell out "bay area" every other line but that doesnt mean they arent reppin...i would want the best possible artist to repersent the bay,not just some cat that fits the bill with his image

good shit. some speak images and materialism. some actually speak life. i prefer those that acually stop and analyze life and put it in their music. these are the guys who chose to dedicate their life to music, for the actual craft of it, and arent just using the music as a business profession. to me thats what music and hip hop should be all about. good to see more ppl on here feel similar
