Benzino almost made some good (and interesting) points in that article. He loses any credibility from me (my opinion) however, for the following. In the article he goes on about how "everyone" is buying Eminem and not other hip hop artists. He says there are a lot of other artists going un-noticed (like him) because everyone wants to buy the white guy's cd instead of black artists.
I may be wrong, but I could've sworn that a lot of other rap and r&b artists (who are black) went gold and platinum last year.
Benzino has been around for a long time. His previous releases weren't all bad, but they obviously weren't that noticeable. The beats and rhymes were just ok. He's been putting records out long before Eminem ever came thru, but he's steadily hollering that fans aren't buying other rappers (meaning him) because they ONLY buy Eminems cd's. He wasn't selling many units before and he's still not going to, unless he steps it up and puts out something people want to listen to (my opinion).
I don't know if anyone remembers this but Benzino and his people wanted to jump Marky Mark (Wahlberg) and his fuckin' bunch for wearing the same Boston hockey jerseys as they did on a performance on Arsenio Hall. It was supposedly some kind of gang thing. Mark was from Boston and was supposed to know better. LOL
