^^^If you still think Cash Money Records is independent then I honestly don't know what to tell you. And G-Unit? Independent? I'm sure 50 would be very insulted to hear that lol....somebody define what it means to be independent. Cash Money UNIVERSAL...When they got the major distribution they ceased to be independent. G-Unit Shady/Aftermath, the same thing applies. Thizz Nation ENT? That's independent.
How long you been in this industry bruh? Do you know what the definitions of an independent is? Go do some research then come back and holla at me. Seriously.
Edit: let me save you the trouble.
An independent record company is one that is not owned by a major or mini major label. They come in two different flavors.
1. Major-Distributed Independent. This is and independent entity that has little or no staff and lacks the means to commercially distribute its music. They sign artists and contracts with a major or mini major to perform all functions except recording the records. (Cash Money)
2. True Independent. A true independent has no affiliation with a major or mini major, but rather is financed by its owners and/or investors. (What Cash Money used to be)
I unlike many of you on this board am really in this industry and know what i'm talking about. So like I said before cash money records is an independent record company. Case closed.
