this is comin from an outsider who has been listenin to bay music since welcome to the ghetto....

sure, ya'll wanna talk about quinn and 40.

40 will do well outside the bay but he has an established name and stature.

quinn might be nice to everyone in cali but he really doesnt have nationwide flavor...sorry. i know thats like your man for all of ya'l

and i agree...i went to best buy and bought the ya boy and san quinn albums down here in tampa.

but this new balance album.....that album can cross regions....he gonna do it for ya. balance been makin it happen for years.........

i know there has been prolly 6 or 7 threads on this album...but all im sayin is if someone like me out here in tampa can go to www.cduniverse.com and order it (for like 13 bucks after shipping by the way)

there is no excuse for you out there in the bay to be able to go to best buy and pick it up.

e-40 will do his numbers....quinn will make it happen...

but balance can change the game for ya'll in the bay. he doin somethin that hasnt happened in the bay for a long time and thats bring some lyrics back.

40 can come original as they make them.

quinn has heavy support in the bay but he really only does what any rapper in their hood does and it is rep their town and get local sales.... (the bay just happens to have one of the biggest local scenes in the country)

but balance can actually appeal to people well outside of the bay area.

well its gotta happen at home first...

but what im tryin to say is,

as someone not from the bay and could careless about all the turf, block, and city shout outs ( i know how that can turn a song around for you when you hear the block you grew up on shouted out, but keep in mind that only moves so far)

balance has pure talent and people who know nothing about the bay and all the cities who make up the bay area...they will draw towards balance cause the guy has nationwide talent. he has lyrics and a flow that crosses regions.

if you want to build a movement and really claim that the bay is back it starts this month with 40 and balance.

mtv took to 40 thanks to the lil jon but balance can get fire by himself. its just a matter of time before there is a def jam west. if yall let it happen.

you wonder why the south blew up, they werent afraid to go major.

i think the album is just lacking promotion and hype, because its definately a quality album just needs more people across the coutnry to hear it.. he sed he was makin a video but hopefully it is a decent video that can get play on TV.

yea i agree that there doesnt seem to be too much promotion/hype or even buzz about the album. now im not in the bay at the moment so i dont know, and i completely understand it costs tons of money to get promo like 40 did...but this album deserves to do well. it is a great PRODUCT all around, production, packaging, everything...i really feel that i got my moneys worth, and it's prolly in stores nationwide cuz i got mine here in d.c. at towers.

Man on the promotion tip I feel u. This is a good album, but like DJ Quick (who is also distributed by Fontana) there is no push for it. Even in the Bay they only push it so far. Hope it does well it was nice to get a good quality album like this from the Bay. I'm in LA rite now and I'm tryin to let them know about it. I can't do it alone tho.

Finally picked up the album today and knocked it real quick on my home stereo system. DAMN Balance, the wait was worth it man. There are only a couple of songs that I skip just cuz I haven't really listened to them throughly. But I'd have to say the first time through I really like grind and rise. I like Seam's beat on rise alot. And Balance is on point. Go pickup this album yall, you will definetely not be disappointed, especially the nice $9.99 sale price at Rasputins.
