If anything.... If people see how low an artists numbers are they will be more likely to BUY their cd. They will understand how tough the game is and they will stop bootlegging. The west coast is horrible for not supporting their artists, for example... I am not a huge fan of Mistah Fab, but he should have pushed at LEAST 50,000 copies. And Turf Talk should have done the same for the Vaccine. It is terrible these dudes who represent the left side cannot even push 10,000 in a week. People need to see these numbers and realize what the hell is going on, so if anything seeing the numbers will enlighten people to buy rather than bootleg.
for real..I saw bay soundscan #s a while back and it definetly reminded me to keep buying CDs...seeing that the top dudes in the bay like san quinn aren't selling shit (from the perspective of the mainstream) made me be like damn its more important than i thought to pay for CDs.

next paycheck im getting baydestrian, westcoast vaccine and hopefully sumtin else

Its funny that the bay area has now graced the status of the other places that place judgement of an artists ability based on soundscan numbers. Honestly, its good that Locomotive put those up. There are HELLA people here in the bay who are waaaaaay over hyping themselves and lying about what they sellin. They think if they boast their sales they look better. Check your fuckin ego at the door. Thats why rap is losing and rock and alternative is making a comeback. No one wants to hear what you got, or how you murder people anymore. My point is all the fans can see thru the bullshit and lies finally. Hopefully after all is said and done, real dope music will again prevail.

And whoever said its easy to get soundscan numbers...not really. You have to know someone to get them. At least to get what you want, like underground artists.

Agreed...Because as much as people say "they love" Turf's new album and how good he did on making a great album...if the numbers don't reflect the quality of the project, who's fault is it- the artist? No, it is the public and those who hear about a good album and then burn a copy from a friend or rip it off the net. Sound scan is telling the numbers, but not the truth.

the internet is killing every genre of music period.
artists, djs, managers etc need to utilize this tool and make it work for you....
the numbers will keep decreasing as long as tecnology keeps progressing.
theres no way around it. its hard for some to walk into a record store when ya patna got spider man 3, norbit, thizz nation 1-900 for 7 bucks.

RealRich- exactly... Ive personally met waaaay more people that told me they love my album compared to my soundscans... there was politics that came into play wit the low scans for my album BLOCK TESTED HOOD APPROVED thats between me and my labels... at the release of my album there wasnt any other artist wit the buzz i had... so my numbers should of been thru the roof right??? well they werent... only way to prevent that in the future is as an artist is continue to make good music and grow creatively... but the consumers have a responsibilty of goin out there and buying an actual copy of the album... there are a few good albums on this list that didnt have great soundscans attached it to them... the artist did their job... did the consumer support?

and i shouldnt have even got into this debate but i did... so yall are free to say what yall want and ima just sit back n read and laugh... ima keep my gangsta shit on the block... ima not a internet thug... lol

and oh yeah... MY BOOTLEG GAME WAS CRAZY... 20,000 FREE DOWNLOADS THE 1ST WEEK?? DAMN... and yes i have proof of the downloads... my shit got smashed

Thats why I had high expecations for your album. You wasnt a rookie in the rap game and your on koch, plus you had a video to a song that couldve been huge. I copped the mixtape and the album, so I mean I can say I did my part. I'll always buy a cd when someone from Fully Loaded puts it out.

I'm proud of you cuz! That exposure you got was actually more important then sales. Now it puts you in position to do more and possibly get higher sales next time around or venture into something else that don't even have to be about music. I'm sure you met and networked with alot of peeps.
