If fans want to view artists soundscans then they should have to pay for the service just like people within the record industry. I believe that it is $25,000 to have a legal subscription to soundscan. I also believe that it is ILLEGAL to post up soundscan number to unsubscribers.

I think whoever is going to post soundscan numbers should have permission from the artist and label before posting the numbers. I am sure that Sick Wid It, Messy Marv, San Quinn, Thizz, YBB and others on that level wouldn't have a problem with it, but I am fairly sure Balance and Big Rich wouldn't of wanted there numbers posted up for a forum of mostly fans (music buying public) to see.

You contradict yourself. You go from saying it's illegal and cost $25,000 to saying we should have permission from the artist for posting up numbers. It's just numbers, it's not like people are gonna stop buying the music they like cause the numbers are low. I'm also not really sure who cares about legalities here, look at the demographic you're talking to.

if an artist is ashamed of their numbers, and doesn't want their fans to know, either step your game up and put out something people will buy, or get the hell out of the game...*artists getting their feelings hurt cause they can't sell*....LOL

If anything.... If people see how low an artists numbers are they will be more likely to BUY their cd. They will understand how tough the game is and they will stop bootlegging. The west coast is horrible for not supporting their artists, for example... I am not a huge fan of Mistah Fab, but he should have pushed at LEAST 50,000 copies. And Turf Talk should have done the same for the Vaccine. It is terrible these dudes who represent the left side cannot even push 10,000 in a week. People need to see these numbers and realize what the hell is going on, so if anything seeing the numbers will enlighten people to buy rather than bootleg.

See what the hyphy bullshit has done? Seems like Cali is being taken less and less seriously from all the crap fad shit everyone is trying to cash in on. Get off the hyphy, get off the little yellow retard bus and let's start making some real rap.

im not impressed by alot of these sales..i thought people was doing it alot bigger. this is good to know tho
when you drop a project and see yourself struggling to get 500 sold and and not being able to recoup for a second project you will be a lot more impressed by those numbers.

Just to let you know, major labels have access to soundscan numbers which are updated every day. So yeah, not just anybody can get updated numbers on Tuesdays, but there are some that can.
