Biggest problems? Most cats in the game today have no objectivity, no originality, no imagination, no personality, no patience, , and yes... no talent. And whats crazy is that those that do have the aforementioned gifts, seem to have no business sense. They don't realize that theres no substitute for quality. They keep fuckin' around wit that free shit from amateurs instead of breakin' bread for that real.

It is a fact that the quality of the MUSIC has declined simply because cats believe they can get by wit these little tapped out juvenile soundin' ass beats with out adding any melodies, harmonies, or basslines. The sounds thats comin' out of the bay (and shit lets be honest OUT OF HIP HOP PERIOD) is not music anymore. Shit sounds hella mechanical nowadays. Aint no groove to the shit no more. Aint no soul to it. Thats why aint nobody really feelin' it.

The fact that every other mothafucka you meet (be they Niggas, Whiteboys, Mexicans, or what have you) thinks that he's a rapper or producer just cause he really, really, REALLY wants to be, is the reason why Hip Hop sounds like shit today. To the untrained ear it may sound like a new style or sound is possibly being discovered, but the sad reality is that those of us who have been around long enough know that what you're really hearing is what it sounds like when someone really doesn't know what the fuck they're doing. It's evident that most of these fools is just tryin' to fake it till they make it. Thats why theres no originality. When a cat doesn't know what he's doing he copies and references other mothafuckas to try to fit in. Problem is... now we got muthafuckas who don't know what they doing, copying muthafuckas who don't know what they doin'! And this absolutely extends to you rappers too.

It's a fuckin' vicious cycle I tell you...
I AGREE. Even more pathetic is the fact that modern technology makes it even easier to make good music. Yet the music keeps getting worse and worse BRING BACK DANGEROUS MUSIC. Too much of this REASON / Fruityloops bullshit. P.S. I am feeling a lot of DJ. Fresh's beats. He's utilizing modern technology to make GOOD music.

I just see it like, the programs make it easier for someone with less passion to make a beat.

They can just pirate the shit, they dont have to be so hungry that they need to scrimp and save for a suite of equipment.

At the same point in time, some may be so hungry they have to pirate the shit in order to even try out making music, since not everyone can afford the equipment or programs. Also, what if somebody was really hungry, saved up for the equipment, then suck at it, or figure out its not for them....Now they've wasted their money. The discussion could go either way with no real right or wrong. It basically comes down to whoever is making the beat's ears. Whether or not they can judge what sounds good or not, and have a mass audience agree with them.

PS: Your name kills me...Hahaha

I think the height of creativity/originality was all the nickatina/nick peace cds cause they both dared to be different and came up with a sound that most aren't skilled enough to imitate let alone duplicate, and the end result was classic material. Now if more people would take note and treat music not like a job,but an art form of audio expression maybe they wouldn't get caught up with hooks and gimmicks because that"s whats sells units, they could focus on on improving they're craft and growing as artists instead of staying in they're box/label because that's whats expected and until that day comes we will have to put up with bullshit like hyphy/thizz music and the stanky leg:ermm:.
I like your way of thinking, Nickatina is only behind Yuk to me as a rapper just cuz of how much classic material he has. Folks always wanna say A-Wax is so great but to me his music is boring straight up. You can have all the lyrics/word play in the world but if the production is not good and your flows is weak its not a good product period which is also why Lil Wayne is so fucken wack to me

The difference between them is Nickatina still puts out classic material to this day simply because he cashes out for quality and Yuk straight refuses to even pay for beats but he's still dropping 6 thouwow on a p from the club wtf? I think if Yuk were to do an album with one good producer he could actually top his old work,I mean could you imagine if he did a cd entirely produced by Tone Capone?
