My homie asked me this question the other day, and I didn't have an answer.

Say a pitcher has got the first 26 batters out and he has two strikes on the last one. If he strikes him out, but the catcher drops the ball and the batter makes it to first, is it a perfect game still? Doesn't it count as a strikeout for the pitcher still?

My guess would be that it isn't a perfect game, but I dunno.

^^^Ding ding ding...if he gets on base, and he gets the next guy out, he'll a have a no-hitter. if ball is dropped and the guy gets thrown out at first, perfect game.

a no hitter is NOT a perfect game

A perfect game is you get all 27 batters out in a row, no walks, no hits (obviously), and no Errors...

thats why Buerle (Chicago WhiteSox) threw a No hitter, instead of a Perfect game because he walked a guy.

oh yea and to answer to your question, the Pitcher would bitch slap the catcher if it was a clean pitch to catch.
