HONESTLY I'VE NEVER COMPARED THE 2 ON THAT KIND OF SCALE & I MAY BE A LIL BIASED BUT I FEEL LIKE THE MAJORITY OF ARTISTS ON AWOL HAD STAR POTENTIAL..AS A LABEL,IT WAS NOT THE BUSINESS BUT TALENTWISE THERE WAS UNLIMITED POTENTIAL IN ONE CIRCLE & THERE WOULD HAVE BEEN SO MANY HIT ALBUMS RECORDED THE LEGACY WOULD HAVE BEEN LIKE DEATH ROW,ETC....I PURCHASED QUITE A FEW BLACC MARKET ALBUMS BUT ONLY FELL IN LOVE WITH A FEW..X & LYNCH ALWAYS DID IT 4 ME (IN THE EARLIER 90'S) BUT SOME OF THE BLACC MARKET ACTS WEREN'T MY TYPE OF SHIT...ON A PERSONAL LEVEL I ALWAYS RESPECTED TRIPLE BEAM CUZ THEY WERE COOL WHENEVER WE WERE FACE 2 FACE...WHEN PEOPLE MAKE A COMPETITION OUT OF LABELS THERE'S ALWAYS RESISTANCE..WHO KNOWS WHAT COULD HAVE BEEN CREATED IF LYNCH WAS FUCCIN WITH US BACC THEN..THERE WAS A LOT OF EGO SHIT GOIN ON & BOTH LABEL OWNERS WERE FROM SAC & FELT THEY WERE THE BEST AT THE TIME..BUT I FEEL IF YOU LISTEN 2 THE PRODUCT THAT WAS RELEASED (NOT GOING BY SALES OR ANYTHING) YOU'LL AGREE THAT AWOL FUCCED OFF THE OPPORTUNITY 2 HAVE A MAJOR POSITION IN THE INDUSTRY PERIOD.IF CED WOULD HAVE TAKEN CARE OF LYNCH & NOT BASED SUCCESS ON PERSONAL BUSINESS PARTICULARS I THINK BLACC MARKET WOULD HAVE HAD UNLIMITED POTENTIAL ALSO CUZ WHEN YOU HAVE A STAR ARTIST ON YOUR LABEL IT OPENS UP AVENUES & DOORS 4 YOU THAT YOU NEVER BELIEVED YOU COULD GO THRU.JUST MY 2 CENTS..WCM100

i think AWOL put out more artists with quality overall but its a close one.....Black Markets in the run only cuz of Raideds 1st 2 albums and The Unforgiven and Lynchs's Season Of The Siccness and Loaded albums.....most of the other releases from BLacc Market i wasnt feeling too much....i just remember my car used to have a shitload of AWOL tapes in em bacc in the days and i was always buying new releases of AWOL soon as they would drop.....

Lunasicc's A Million Words A Millions Dollars
Killa Tay's Mr. Mafioso
C - Bo's Till My Casket Drops

those albums alone pretty much take the cake for AWOL....but then there was Pizzo album and Lil Rics....plus the Dojia Clicc album......i just remember way more quality and consistancy out of AWOL.....

Black Market no doubt. Now who did the biggest screw up's? Dr. Dre tried to buy the name Black Market off Ced and he tried to raise the price and Dre pulled out, also Warner Brothers wanted to buy X's contract when he caught his case and once again he tried to raise the price and lost out again... Or AWOL for not developing Keak Da Sneak when he was signed or the simple fact that the whole label fell apart for havin' alot of no biz savy people around? Both Labels could have been west coast dynasties like ruthless, death row, or even rap-a-lot. I hate seeing these guy's not doin' sh!t now.
I also know for a fact that Master P wanted to buy lynchs contract off of ced and also Black Rhino's but ced always wanted more money. and from my understanding just when lynches contract was almost up with black market, ced shot lynch his first 100,000 dollers and signed lynch to another contract so Master P couldnt get him. alot of big things could have happened for black market.

i think its a toss up. i guess it depends on ur preferences. both were great in their time. in my opinion i think Mr Mafioso and Season were the best releases respectively and im unable 2 decide wich was harder. but what if they could have had a merger bacc then.....can u imagin a lable with Lynch, Bo, X, Tay, Luni, ect ect????? that would have been a super power in tha game that would likely still reign, if the artists were compensated. and why wouldnt they be. thats a man looking in2 tha short term, get his and dissmissing who got it 4 him, instead of keeping that artist happy and building long term residuals. CRAZY.

i agree Season was great. 1 of my fav albums of all time. but tay brought some new shyt 2 tha table. when Mr Mafioso came out i wasnt bumpin shyt else.
Actually Mr. Mafioso had 2 grow on me. It did but it took a minute. The song Blocc Monster use 2 stay on repeat back then. That was 1998 when I was living in Southern Cali & I bought a gang of Cd's that year. I recall copping

No Face Killaz
Sicx & Lynch-Nigga Deep
Dosia-Waiting 2 Inhale
Laroo- The Hard Hitter
Black Rhino-Paper Route
Scarface-My Homies
Jayo Felony-What Cha Gonna Do
E-40-Element Of Suprise
Devin-The Dude
Master P-The Last Don
C-Bo-Till My Casket Drops
Doja Clik-Speed Kills
Lanasicc-A Million Words
West Coast Trippin.
Do Or Die-Heads Or Tails

And a about 4 or 5 more I can't remember. The fucked up part is I only own West Coast Trippin now. Moms put some of our shit in storage & fucked around & lost the storage when I moved outta town. I aint been able 2 replace non of that shit & some of it was outta print now. I remember flashing on moms when I found out about the storage. Anyways that was a good ass year 4 music 4 me. Probably the best. Yhe only CD I regret buying was that weak ass Doja Clik album.
