this is honestly how i saw the whole FTI thing and i might be completely mistaken
the mp3 part of the "FTI" is just a fraction of the whole thing. and the mp3 part of it wasn't really tech saying "download everything" but about how the "industry" was blaming the fans who download to misguide the public eye away from the bullshit they put out. the "industry" using mp3s as a scapegoat for the shitty state that the "industry" has been in. So, I think the whole mp3 part and making absolute power available online was Tech and Strange Music goin "look, you fuckers can't be whining about mp3s while you put out shitty music, support shitty artists, etc. this is us showing you that people will still BUY this shit even if they can download and preview it online." so to me, it seemed that, it was to put it in their face and kinda show people that most of their whining about mp3s was only number 666 on their list of priorities/things they really should have worried abut.
plus leaking and spreading mp3;s BEFORE they're even supposed to be out would have nothing to do with this kind of FTI.
and i did listen to the "new" songs once they had leaked. but i'd definately not put them in my "shared folder" and id advice everybody else not to either. i dont think the problem is people like most of us here who would buy that shit anyway.. it's when a CD hits the MASSES/"normal" consumers two months early, that's where the problems come from

My brother showed me that he found it and I listened to it. I'll probably cop it when it comes out if I got the cash at the time, but I definately wont share that shit, period. Tech is still all about FTI, but he makes his living through the industry- its just he does it all on his own terms through a record label he helped build. Originally if you didnt notice, tech was trying to get onto bigger labels and catch a deal like everyone else does. He then realized theyre all some greedy bitches and revolve around nothin but money, so he said "fuck the industry" and luckily came across someone who dug his shit and helped him get his own label. As a marketing technique, he then put AP on his site for free to promote his ideology as a whole, and ended up bankin off of it because of not only the CD sales but the merch sales also. Now that he is reconized a little bit more (not near as much as he should be though, we'd all agree), if you leak his shit- his sales are definately gunna be affected, and that just means your stealin from tech the little bit of cash flow he gets off the discs. And it aint even like hes chargin you no 20 dollaz a cd like most these other motherfuckers. Do the man we all come here for a favor and buy his shit, and nobody here is going to applaud you for sayin "look, I got that shit right here come download it off me!", in fact this post was created to tell you that yer ass will be booted if you try that shit, so dont fuck around- and if you plan on it, dont even come here.
I go buy all of Tech and Kutt and When Krizz comes out I will go buy that shit too. My thoughts are regardless if I find it on the net before the date of release I will go buy that shit cds dvds whatever as long as it has to do with Tech and Strange Music and now Empire even though they are not Strange I am felling them for real. If we dont go out and buy this shit even if we found it on the net Tech and Strange aint gonna get big like we want them to like Mainstream without all the bullshit from mainstream. If we buyin they shit they can show they makin sales and they dont need no big lablel to make the money they want and do the touring they wantg to get they shit heard in the streets. look at all the people who have followed for years alot of these cats in mainstream cant even say that much. So I think if we dont go out and buy this shit when it comes out then what good does it do for Tech or Kutt or Krizz or anyone from Strange music.
bootleggin was good for swishahouse look at em now 15 million richer signed with asylum/warner....before they were makin mixtapes in there basement...if it wasnt for there shit hitting the net...noone would know who they were....same with dj screw....etc..few others i can name...but everyone has a different view on it...

But Tech already has the recognition, its not like hes tryin to get recognized as much as he used to be. I think at this point there's enough tech n9ne online to where the only downloading will be hurting his sales, but we can only hope the people that do download end up supporting him by buying the real shit. I know I first heard him online, and since Ive spent cash on some merch and tickets and whatnot.
