Spurs Closing In On Artest?

The Spurs would send the expiring contracts of Francisco Elson and Brent Barry for Ron Artest and possibly include a draft pick.

Sacramento Bee -
According to the Sacramento Bee the Spurs are closing in on a deal for Ron Artest.

The Spurs would send the expiring contracts of Francisco Elson and Brent Barry for Artest and possibly include a draft pick.

It is also believed, however, that Denver may be ready to part ways with Linas Kleiza for Artest.

Houston also reportedly had conversations with the Kings about Artest.

Damn the Spurs with Bowen and Artest would make the Lakers hopes fade away real quick. If this trade goes down the playoffs will be off the hook this year (only in the west tho).

Looks like Artest to Denver or NY are going to be the only options, and NY doesn't really have a whole lot of incentive to trade for him because he has pretty much said after his contract expires he's gonna sign in NY for cheap anyway.

So the Spurs just became a little less boring?

I'd rather have Barry than Thomas, seeing as he has to be respected and stretches the defense.

And, i'll believe Barry's coming back when I see it. I'm thinking the Sonics would rather keep him than sign and waive.
