again these things fall into color lines, FUCKIN STUPID

let me break it down you young punks

1. black, white, asain, any fuckin color it doesn't matter if you rap it's what you rap about, you can't be from the burbs no matter what color you are rapping about this ghetto life, poverty or anything like that

2. if you ARE from this environment then you have the right to express your feelings about how you grew up, or what you went through

that's the reason why i don't feel alot of these rappers today, most of them are 2nd generation cats that are brought up through the 1st generation, example 1.(Droop-E)

young dru-i'm sure he can spit with the best of them, i've heard him rap but i know nothing about this cat, i not gonna pop on somebody talking about selling drugs, pimpin' hoes, or clockin a grip if they ain't really got no reason to do it, meaning square bears in simple terms, and i'm not saying young dru is like that but until somebody proves me wrong then i'm gonna stick with what i think

anybody with money can make an album, we just got to live with that but it's up to the individual to decided on who's real and who's not, and when you grow up around that shit you have a better idea on who's spittin the real shit

So fuck the white/black shit cause 85% of ya'll are squares any muthafuckin way, i don't know too many youngstas from the projects or that's poor owning a computer anyway, muthafuckas
I feel you on that DROOPE shit homie grew up in blackhawk and went to Dublin High but he gets respected cuz everyonen think he a real street nigga from vallejo when that aint the case... Ill take real ass Woodie, Young Dru, or anyone else over Droop-E

that's the thing i'm not bashing dru, woodie, or none of them cats, what i'm trying to say is if i walk in a store and i see somebody up and coming( perfect example is shag nasty) now i know very little about this cat the only thing i know is he raps with nikatina alot and he's from the moe now being that i live in frisco and i know about what type of area he's from i'm more likely gonna buy his shit then somebody like young dru, why? i look at his cover of his album i know he reps vallejo and he's white, is that the reason why i wouldn't buy his album? No it's not, the reason why is i've been to vallejo i know what type of people are out there and i would say about 75-85% of males out there are yuppie ass, rich kids that think their ghetto, how many REAL projects are out there? Fuckin' none! i could be wrong but i don't think so, there are poor parts of the V but how many people from them parts rap or are rappers, not too many. AND IT DOESN'T MATTER HOW MANY GUNS YOU POPPED OFF, HOW MANY ROCKS YOU'VE SOLD, OR HOW MANY HOES YOU HAVE if you're born a square not matter what you do you'll die a square, and when i look at some of these albums now a days most of them are turning out to be that way(a rich kid with money making a ghetto rap album)

after listening to shag i can tell he's a real muthafucka, the others i have a feeling that they fall into that list of squareism

i don't give a flying fuck whether you agree with me or not but that's how i feel.

If you are really from the streets and about everything you talk about in your raps it will show

I figure Young Dru has credability since Vallejo is such a small town, someone would have aired dude out big time a long time ago if he was a fraud.

oh i know that, every entertainer lies, but with rap i expect their to be some type of truth, rap ain't like rock n roll or anything else it has major ties with real life shit, i don't listen to rap cause it's cool i listen to it cause it helps me cope with my past and i know the same shit i went through other people have went through the same thing and MADE IT IN LIFE

Supwiddit 3X... FYI- I never give anybody the benifit of the doubt and I never assume any body puts up a front... An old saying goes, "to assume makes an ass out of uand me"... I've known some white cats that've done some outrageously gangsterous shit just so they could shut any naysayers up... And I've also had the misfourtune of encountering many a sukkelle ass nicca...

Now back to my misquoted comment that was perceived as being ignorant. I said, "anotha reason some white 'gangsta rappers' get hated on is cuz some minorities feel that the white rapper can switch it up and go white-collar if the gangsta life gets too hetic..." Hence I said "some minorities feel..."

I 've had some white potnas who were down as fuck back in the day... matter of fact one (who used to be an aspiring rapper) graduated college and now has a full time job in his respective field... Unfortunately his foster brother (who happens to be black and got adpoted at 17 outta juvinile hall) is the one I spoke on earlier who is fresh out the pen wit 2 strikes... Their story is too long for me to break down, but I'm not out here saying that this justifies what I spoke on earlier... The world ain't that simple...

I'm 28 and most of my white potnas is doin cool (another one of my folks is a firefighter, back in high school he was on the run from the FBI), while most of my other folks iz strugglin'... I can't callit... I want er'ybody to do good...

I wish I could say that some of my folcs iz wrong for feelin' that "the white rapper can switch it up and go white-collar if the gangsta life gets too hetic..." but I don't got no real argument to refute their opinions... Hopefully when you're 28yrs old, most of your homboys (black and white) will remain alive and outta jail - that way I can use y'all as proof to change some minds...
whattup homie...i can see you got a way better head on your shoulders than i originally thought, and for that, i apologize for coming at you sideways.

i feel what you're saying...so then, what "some minorities feel" is ignorant. i feel you that the dude with 2 strikes out the pen is gonna have more street cred, but what's race got to do with that??

im 22...i got a couple folks that passed away, a couple folks that are locked up...that's life, fuckit. i miss em, but i can't do shit about it. they can all get on their own respective hustle, and hopefully racial profiling (in either direction) wont stop them. whether it's people assuming the black folks are criminals, or assuming that the white guys are silver-spoon-fed squares...it's all fuckd. shit sounds corny, but fuckit, that's real...

Who here disagrees when i say Eminem is a lyrical/wordplay genius?

I must be one of the only people who appreciates wordplay.
I would rather listen to someone that comes out with insane crazy lines that nobody in their right mind could ever think of than listen to the guy who raps about killing 75 niggas in one driveby and really did do it.

If you got heat, I'm gonna listen to you. The ones I respect the most, though, are the ones that come from the streets and don't rap about it in every song. The first example that comes to mind is Andre Nickatina...I consider Nicky to be a wordsmith, and not a gangsta. He's from Fillmoe, so he's from the same place as every other real cat outa Frisco, but every song isn't about how he wetted 3 cats with one shot.

Check Eminem (first couple albums before he went completely mainstream), check Atmosphere, check Smoov-E (makes me laugh), the Grouch, and many others. Not all of them come from the roughest of neighborhoods I'm sure, but none of them need to really talk about that. Not all rap needs to be about the hood.
