Are BulletProof Vests Illegal In Cali?

hmmmm...i think if youre a felon you can't wear one or maybe its just in general cause i remember old dirty bastard got busted in LA wearing a vest.

there legit up to a certain protection level i believe, Exporting Level III and IV armor plates requires a U.S. State Department export permit. There are also a few countries that may require a Department of Commerce export license for Level II-A, Level II and Level III-A Body Armor. Up to Level 111 A only handguns are covered but for protection against rifle fire you will need level 111 or level IV protection. CAN defeat body armor which is not specifically designed to protect against these threats. Bullet proof protective panels do not offer protection against sharp-edged or pointed instruments e.g., knives, ice picks, etc. ...Bullets that are successfully stopped by body armor may still produce some level of injury e.g. severe bruising, broken bones, and possibly serious internal injury or even death.
Yea, coming out of court one day I pulled one of the deputies to the side and asked him if vests were legal. If you are a felon, they are illegal. If you have a vest on and are carrying a weapon, it's illegal, unless you're in SOME TYPE of law enforcement (i.e. Bodyguard, cop, etc...). Other than that, you can wear a vest and they can't do shit about it (IN California). But like Musty said, just because you have Kevlar on doesn't mean shit can't fuck you up.

plus most of you prolly aint never worn a vest, they are uncomfortable as hell...wearing one daily would drive you fuckin nutz and you sweat ya ass off...and if you get one with armor plates , that another 40-50 lbs ( like runnin with a backpack fulla bricks) you luggin around..and thos plates dont cover all areas...just vital points...you could still get hit with a .22 and that shit would riccochet internally and shread ya organs to bits, the docs wont be able to find the slug cause it will fragment or get lost inside ya....

well we were out in san jose last year...me and a few homiez.....and we got stopped by the pigs driving down the strip.....they found our homie sporting a vest....they told him either give it up tonite or go to jail and they take it anyway....sohe gave it up and we got "escorted" by to the freeway by the police......
So many diff. opinions, the law screws us like that.

You need a permit to carry a gun, and I only know one person who has one. It has to be approved by 5 people in the system and the sherrif of the county, and they ask for 5 referrals (friends or family) to speak with them. You either have to have to deal with a lot of cash or carry a lot of jewlery, or feel that you're life is in danger.
