now, if i was to have said to myself:

"gee, i have these bills to pay, my car note, oil change, etc etc, and i only have so much money to last me for 2 weeks! :( i cant go party if i pay part of my credit card off. oh wait. it says it isnt due for another month. yay! well, ill pay it when its due. its only 500 dollars!"

come the week of the due date, interest would have ran up double what it was. the payoff becomes different.

i say to myself "o no! i cant pay it! oh well only 20 dollars is due! ill pay that"

then the cycle continues, more fees add on and by the time you pay what THEY TOLD YOU to pay...youre fucked.

that shit is dumb.
esp for cards with high interest rates (first time credit card holders who didnt get a cosignage)

i paid 200 dollars of my shit off this morning.
and technically, i have enough money to pay it all off now. but you have to know how to play the game by the numbers.

im so fuckin' budgeted with my credit card its crazy. that shit is like a third robotic arm.

i got 300 dollars to last me for 2 weeks after all my bills now but fuck it..atleast i have piece of mind knowing that my credit card will not beat me in my own game. plus i quit drinking, so this shits gonna be easy for me. my shit will be paid off before i take vacation, and imma run that hoe up again.

You do? Than you can you say a system of credit "has nothing wrong with it"? For one, youre paying MORE for EVERYTHING...what do you think INTEREST is? How is that NOT "something wrong"? Tony, youre smarter than that, cmon bro.

Every dollar the US borrows from the Federal Reserve has interest on it...need i continue?

i think the service that credit cards give is the equivelent to paying interest, IMO.

because i dont have this special homeboy where i can hit him up and go "yo, let me borrow 500 dollars, imma pay you 50 dollars extra for helpin me out"

the financial cushion a credit card has allowed me has also actually overweighed the small amount of stress i get from paying it back.

the problem is when people dont realize what theyre getting into, i guess.

you can always sit down and calculate your interest based on the paperwork the bank gave you, or even on the website.

Did you read what I wrote? I accrue NO INTEREST, I pay my shit on time and I get cash back. So instead of me spending $100 on gas/month, I use my credit card, pay it off, and get $5 back. I get paid to use my credit cards. So why is that bad?

BTW I just got a new card and used it to pay my tuition and I'm getting $250 back and am paying no interest...

You gotta know what you're doing.

That still deters the fact that a sytem based on credit is a GOOD thing? Look at the bigger picutre, Tony. What happens when you buy a house? Credit is a CURSE and anyone with half a brain can SEE that.

credit=the ability to go into DEBT.

What happens when you have you use your card for an emergency BIG purchase? DO you have the ability to pay off it right away? All of a sudden, you ARE paying interest. Shit happens.

THe point im making, is that a system BUILT on credit, is EXTREMELY faulty. It provides power to private banks OVER even the GOVERNMENT. Think of where that put someone like YOU...

Youre talking to a guy who works for a COLLECTION agency...

You don't have to use it, you can save up your money and pay cash. If I am letting someone borrow money from me, the more I trust them the more they can borrow and the less I'll charge them. That is fair in my eyes. If you call saving and learning how to manage money a curse, then just call me Mr. Bad Luck.

If you don't know how to use it, then yes, it will fuck you over. Just like not knowing how to drive, operating heavy machinery, etc.

There can negative effects to anything. But it does get you to and from work, school, the club, whatever.

Well without credit I couldn't make the purchase, so let me think....Something I NEED I can get and pay a little more, or go without it. Which would you choose?

You dont HAVE to drive...however, we live in a society that is BUILT on debt. Its the SYSTEM you ARE living in...

So you think credit is good? You think the ability of debt is good? Thats all im asking. Yes or no will do. Remember, credit is NOT just credit cards.

Homie, the money we USE has interest on it ALREADY...THAT is my point.

If you don't know how to use it, then yes, it will fuck you over. Just like not knowing how to drive, operating heavy machinery, etc.
You dont HAVE ot use heavy machinery...you dont HAVE to drive. However, you HAVE to use MONEY to LIVE.

What about medical? What happens when insurance doesnt cover something and you have to be billed, and find out that paying off $50,000 in medical bills aint the business? We have over 2 million accounts in our collection system...and we usually take only PORTIONS of hospitals' debts...

You dont HAVE to use credit either.

There is not one single thing that is good for everyone, but yes, credit is good for me, others not. If used correctly, it is a GREAT tool. I think it is a fair system, if you want to live in my apartment building, I want to know that you pay your rent on time. If you want to borrow money from my bank, I want to know that you are responsible enough to pay it off.
