Like Bigbread said its all about the breeders. Tom Garners APBTs look like "game bred" with the exception of a few that have show characteristics.
@ Abyss, take your time homie when your looking for pups. See as many litters as possible and dont fall for the first one you see. Talk to the breeders about past breedings and if you can get into contacts with people who got pups from them in the past. Reputation is key. A lot of people say they got champion lines or purebred etc. but each dog has its own character and you would want one that best suites your lifestyle. A great breeder will show off their registry papers with pride. I ran into a lot of breeders in the bay/valley with photocopied papers straight out of books, others wit legit papers but the parents werent as its described on the title. If your interested i know a great breeder from my neighborhood

Ive seen some of her litters in the past and she's pretty much the best of the best.
Another thing is this the first time you owning a dog or have you had any other dogs in the past? If this is your first i suggest spending a day or two with anyone you know with APBTs. A puppy is like a kid, theres gonna be many sleepless nights ahead of you.
