Regardless of how bad The Source has gotten, I still get every issue and read it cover to cover. If you're gonna be in the music business, in any capacity, it does nothing but benefit you to read as many music magazines as possible. Even if you don't like them, you need to be able to see and understand what the consumers are looking at. If that means reading The Source even though you don't like it, that's what you need to do.
I read (cover to cover) every music magazine I can get my hands on including Spin, The Source, Rolling Stone, Vibe, XXL, Blender and countless others. More importantly, don't just read the shit relating to hip hop, read up on the other genres included in the mags. I could give a flying fuck about The Strokes or Sum-41, but I've read about 10 different articles/interviews on them because they are making a dent in the music industry. It's beneficial to understand what is happening in the industry you're tryin' to be in even if you don't think certain things apply or relate to you and hip hop.
My .02 cents.
