Specialist? You mean a mechanic? Because all the codes are in books and computer programs, theyre not exactly a secret dude. I would even say 99% of the codes your going to get you could google.
IF I REMEMBER RIGHT IT WAS AAA THEY HAD FOUND 3 CODES THAT POPPED UP BUT IT TOOK A FEW DAYS TO FIND AND FIX ONE OF THE CODES,

Arson is right
my ex wife had a similar issue and thats how the smog people fixed it. they reset the computer boom, she passed.
But you need a cool smog dude, maybe bribe him? who the fuck goes somewhere they dont know? if its such a serious issue that the car codes as soon as the battery is plugged back in, then he needs it fixed anyways, before he gets stranded somewhere, his light not being on, points to it to being a history code fucking him, which unpluging the negative cable off the battery over night would fix.

she initally failed smog. so she had to get some repairs done courtesy of the state of california lol
they kept her car for 2 days. They tried everything they could, so on the second day they said f it, restarted her computer, and it passed. 2 years after that we took it back there and they knew the game lol.

Id put my money on the switch that your brake pedal triggers, its probley got pushed out of adjustment, Id bet you can just clip it back in place, or it needs to be replaced.
It was now I got 2 brake lights and my drivers side is out now 2/3 is better than 0/3
