Coldblooded, maybe?? This meat market I fuck with has em for joog right now, but I have never made one and don't want to spend that kind of bread if I am just gonna fuck it up.
And Shea, see, thats why I need tips, because I searched and got two different things, too get the oven HELLA hot before I cook it, or to slow cook it for hours on low heat.
what i do is start low and go from between medium-high and medium till its done. it really depends on if youve marinated it ahead of time or if you marinate it on the spot, or if theres no marinate on it..
it also depends on if you have other shit in there like onions or mushrooms.
if you start off real high you end up cooking the outside but not the inside, which leads the shit to be charred (read: too crisp) on the outside and tender in the inside.
have you done that, or are you just copyin it from some website? I want people to talk from their own experience.
My oven may catch on fire if I freakin preheat it to 450. I tried to use the self cleaning thing on it one time and had to call the fuckin fire department.
That's the thing, I try to keep my oven HELLA spotless. It just doesn't do well at high ass temps.
The first night we moved into our house, we weren't done unpacking so my husbands aunt wrapped some of them already cooked BBQ ribs in aluminum foil and baked em. The stupid bitch didn't realize that grease and BBQ sauce would end up drippin all over the oven. I was heated. It took me about a week to clean all of that shit out of there.

If you got a big cooker or a big pot ...boil them for a while first. You can add some seasonings while they boil to give em a little flavor. Don't boil them all the way though...just enough to where they almost look done. Then you can put em in the oven @ about 350-375 and add more seasonings ..because you will lose a lot of seasoning in the boil water. This will keep em nice n juicy in the oven. and make keep your oven time shorter. I've don this a coupla times. Hella good. Garlic and Onions in the water is real good too. then fish out those same onions and garlic to toss in the oven. Then spread on tha BBQ sauce towards the end and let it marinate.......Damn...now I'm hungry.
says the woman asking for help on cooking prime rib.
lets not get snippy, i dont need help on cooking nor would i ever need to make this thread..im adding to the styles here.
yeah, bieng that were on a website everyone dosent come from where you come from...exscuse me for not knowing your town steak bidness...
anywho... a steak can come out great regardless of what utensils you go about cooking it, its all about cooking it to your wanted texture and heat is heat, regardless.
one person might swear by the grill, one might think otherwise..maybe it would be cool to try them all...
When you cook a steak in a skillet, how do you do it? I have never tried. Do you season it regular and throw it in the pan, or do you cook it in butter or oil or somethin? I am not bein an asshole, just wondering. I may try it, on your word that it can come out good.
why u askin advice on a "gangsta rap" forum about cooking?! if i were you i would go to some Emeril Live website or some shit like that. I have and its very helpful. just google some shit.
ill throw some light oil on the pan, enough to cover the area and start low heat then work to medium/high medium until it gets to my desired texture. i usually pre-marinate my shit then season so it takes a bit more low cooking...
to be real with you it was something i had to learn to do..the trick was learning how to cook one side equal to the other...cooking too high makes it middle not thourough...my mom taught me how to cook steaks in the oven way back but ive always been partial to cooking them more hands on because i can get the type of juicy steak i want without guessing times with the oven.
i pretty much use the oven when im lazy, although it also makes for good steaks...its just not as hands on.

Why do we talk about 3/4 of the shit on here that we talk about? there are plenty of TV, Movie, video game, drug websites, but I like to interact here with people that I 'know'.
my bad. i forgot to mention if you have a top for the skillet, thats gonna help. keeps the heat in.
yeah try it, ive cooked steaks all different ways...its kind of a preference thing with me...sometimes ill go the oven route and sometimes ill go the bbq route, but my skillet has made the steaks way more soft and juicy but cooked thorough so thats my thing when im at home and its a dinner meal.
