I was pretty anti mixtape for awhile but some real tight ones came out this year. Animal Planet, Early Morning shift and Real World West Oakland were hella nice. I like em cuz you get a bunch of shit to listen to for lless than 10 bucks most the time

the bay swapped quality compilations for mixtapes.
there's one thing in showing your lyrical talent but it doesnt show ur musical character/idenity when u rhymin over someone else's beat.. especially when the lyrcis arent anything special...--
"lets not forget mixtapes promote albums, mixtapes give u an avenue to build a rapport with your fans, mixtapes promote different companies, new artists, and yet i havent even talked about displaying production or djin skills

i used to enjoy waiting on Bay artists CDs especially cuz they were top notch when they finally did drop. Now all these recycled verses, fake features just water it down... then folks wonder why downloading is @ an all time high. MF's back in the day u bragged about having a legit copy of a bay cd, i dont hear too much of that goin on these days

I used to listen to a lot of mixtapes, back in 2003-2004, and it was cool, now I don't even download them anymore, the market is too oversaturated and I don't have the time to listen through 2000 mixtapes to find out the 20 or 30 dope ones

i got mix views on mixtapes i think they coo but sometimes i rather hear an album with some new shit. i mean they are basically remaking songs with mixtapes and not bringing anything new to the game

@MIXTAPES

ITS A GOOD WAY TO GET YOUR NAME OUT THERE AND BUILD A FAN BASE BEFORE YOU DROP YOUR ALBUM.... IT ALSO KEEP YOU IN THE STREETS WHEN YOU DONT HAVE A NEW ALBUM OUT THERE.. ALOT OF CATS SHOULD DO MIXTAPES INSTEAD OF JUST DROPPING WEAK ASS ALBUMS..... ITS A GOOD NETWORK TOOL OVER ALL...YOU CAN SEND A MIXTAPE SONG TO ONE OR 50 DJ'S THAT HELP SPREAD YOUR NAME.. IT S A GOOD SELF PROMO TOOL........

SOME CATS GOT SKILL BUT DONT HAVE MONEY FOR BEATS SO THEY USE FREE MIXTAPE BEATS TO LET THE STREETS KNOW THEY GOT HEAT...........
