Dumars Puts All Pistons On The Block
Jun 04, 2008 4:57 AM EST

Flip Saunders was removed as head coach in Detroit on Tuesday, but Joe Dumars claims that he will not be made a scapegoat and that the players will be held responsible for the team's failure in the Eastern Conference finals again, Larry Lage of the Associated Press writes.

"There are no sacred cows here," Dumars said. "You lose that sacred-cow status when you lose three straight years."

Ya Dumars is putting it down, i told yall they need to switch the formula up and looks like they will finally do that. They need to Rasheed Wallace cuz hes a cancer, that should be there highest priority.

sheed gotta go. other than that the other starters should stay and find a way to get stuckey some playing time so maybe a good trade for a big guy involving either rip or chauncey.

It will be interesting to see the moves Joe D makes in the off season. Speculation has been saying Assistant Michael Curry will get the head coaching job, but there's also been others contacted like Avery Johnson.

I also read that Wallace and Billups are likely to be considered for a trade, but I don't know how much merit are in those speculations. Prince, McDyess and Rip seem to have pretty safe jobs. Trading Chauncey might also give the #1 spot to Stuckey, but I would assume that depends on who else is involved in the changes made during the summer.

Joe Dumars mind works in mysterious ways.

what i would do is give Michael Curry the job cause he knows the brand of defense that needs to be played to win another one and he's familiar with everything so they can go for it instantly. then i would trade or drop rasheed without question with hoping of grabbing a good draft pick or decent player. then trade chauncey for an experienced big player that can take up alot of space in the paint. it's the fucking pistons so they can prolly get any free agent out there if they push hard enough as well.

Prince, Hamilton and Stuckey are probably their most tradeable assets but they are gonna wanna hang on to them cause they need to get a lot younger. The problem is I don't see anybody giving up much to get Billups (only a 2-3 good years left), Sheed (see Billups) or McDyess (see Sheed). I wouldn't mind getting Maxiell as a backup pf for Portland, but just like Stuckey, I gotta assume they wanna hold on to one of their few good young players. Of the guys they most likely want to move, I wouldn't be surprised to see them end up on contending teams for expirings and 2nd round picks (Dumars seems to do great with 2nd round picks). Imagine Billups in Boston next year...

I think they may be able to get a good player for sheed & billups, I agree that they need to keep hamilton prince & stuckey, although I do like the team the way it is.....they faced a juggernaut this year with boston, I think everyone expected boston to just walk into the finals anyways. they do need to do something tho, get a good big man cuz the guards are good. just not a complete overhaul so they can keep some consistency and maintain their high spot in the eastern conference

btw I'm fucking pissed I'mma miss the first game of the finals due to my gay ass dui class :ermm:
