bruce lee used to talk about jeet kun do
(his own brand of martial art) as an adaptable
fighting system. meaning, if you were facing an
opponent who suddenly starts whupping your ass
w/ some kickboxing, you adapt to the situation w/
a workable style that can kick ass back. he also
talked about it being like water: fluid, changable,
never fixed or stuck in 1 style. there's a bunch of
missing footage from 'game of death' where he
expands on this theory in the middle of a fight; i
saw this footage recently & it applies to lyricism &
specifically all this talk of 'style.' (lynch's 'season'
style vs. 'lbi' style.)

the thing is, there isn't 2 different styles. it's the
same man flexing different muscles in terms of
delivery, tone, words, metaphors, etc. we used to
battle cats back in the day & lynch would use different
styles for different opponents. y'all might not be able
to picture him using an 'absract,' back-pack/hip-hop
style but i've seen him do it. those who fix themselves
in 1 style get pigeon-holed & gimmick-ized. (b-real,
beastie boys, rbx, fu-shnickens, das efx....where are
they today? besides b-real, these chioces of style have
put a ceiling on their careers.) trust: nelly's gonna have
a hard time of it in a few years. (although nelly knows it
& understands the nature of the game he's playing; i
may not dig his music but i respect his know-how &
business savvy. we'll be seeing him in movies soon
enough & i don't think in trite roles like ja rule has
chosen. nelly will parlay it into a viable career.)

listen to 'naked cheese' & 'corpse came to dinner'
by lynch, both from the same period of time, & you'll
see why i say there is no 'season' style or 'lbi' style.
listen to my 'plug nickel' vs. 'none to die for.' same
period, different styles. the truth is to choose a style
is choosing a short career in mc-ing. get past the issue
of style & y'all will better understand mc-ing in it's totality.
& lbi as a work of art.

I don't think anyone wasn't too happy with the styles (or muscle choice of usement) he used on this CD...It was the production that holds it back

in the same way that a lot of people say the production is going to hold the album back it is going to push it forward into the hands of more people.
lynch can't think in terms of sacramento gangsta music if he wants to sell equal to his skills. I'm not talking about doing commercial radio music either.

Do you notice the different theme/mood/storyline throughout the album? If it was just hardcore sacramento beats all through that would be lost and it might as well be a compilation of lynch hung songs and not the "suicide note" album.

that's the truth..... the artists that fail to evolve are the artists that dissolve..... if you're not soakin' game then the games gunna soak you up..... when fans can see thru the mainstream propaganda and learn to appreciate music as an artform and not just entertainment.... they'll find that you've got just that.... artists and entertainers..... real chop.....

Loki's Remarks

OK 99% of that post was bullshit.

I don't know if you're high as fuck and on some Bruce Lee trip right now, but unlike some of these groupies, I disagree.

First of all, you have no right to compare Nelly, The Beastie Boys, Fu Shnickens, Das EFX, or even B-Real or RBX to the likes of you and Kevin. These are artists who have actually gone somewhere in the rap game. Some have made hundreds of thousands, some have made MILLIONS AND MILLIONS. Hands down all of these people have had more exposure and success than your entire camp by 1000%.

You speak of gimmicks?

This one should sound familiar.
Trying to sound so intelligent in your raps by using big words, but saying nothing in the process... That one's been done.

or how about....
Nigger nuts and guts and killing people. THAT ONE'S NEW!

You know... I've waited 6 years for a new Lynch CD to be released... I figued in SIX YEARS that mabye he could come up with something AT LEAST DECENT....

I saw it on the shelf: Double CD with Free DVD.... sweet
After hours of trying to LIKE the cd........ I HAVE DISCOVERED THAT THERE ARE ONLY 2 DECENT SONGS ON THE WHOLE FUCKING CD.... AND THE DVD IS SHITTY AS FUCK..... almost as bad as "Now Eat."

Referring to the Lynch By Inch Style:
It sucks hands down....... nobody gives a fuck about the drama he is speaking. It's as if he made a CD for the people in Siccmade instead of for the fans....

With all due respect, I don't want to hear about his mom's death (tragic, but personal none the less), The Cedsing drama is all played out by now........ and everything else is still nigger nuts and guts as usual, or people stabbing him in the back........ WHO CARES.......

My prediction is: The new king of Sacramento is Hollow Tip...... His new CD is SO good...... beats, lyrical content, hooks... AND IT'S A DOUBLE.......... BOTH CD'S ARE GOOD. I thinks it's just as good as "All Eyez On Me"

Talk to me when you guys do something with your lives.
