why dont "yall" respect Richmond artists?

every other city has their legends that they respect and cant wait til their next album drops but when it comes to Richmond artists none of "yall" seem all of that excited, with an exception of a few people on siccness, when a Richmond artists releases an album...


yellow bus...gimmick?

am i the only one who sees this whole "yellow bus ryder" shit being a gimmick. The Bay is demanding attention when we say some shit like "I ride the yellow bus" and be proud of the shit. I dont know what elementary or junior high school you went to but riding the yellow bus is not the shit. I'm just waitin for "yall" to start sportin bike helmets claiming to be retarded...


Do we need a genre in the Bay?


Hyphy? Mob? Who gives a shit...whatever genre we choose to blow up with...their just gonna suck us dry like they always do and then its back to plan A. Personally i feel we have the talent to give the world what they want but the question is...Do the world want it or do the labels wanna get paid? Ok....lets say The Team just got signed to a major. Of course The Team release slapper after slapper but now anutha major comes along and signs Gorilla Pits. Do they wanna hear what Gorilla Pits have to offer or do they want their label to make some off that Bay Area sound The Team's been releasing so they can get that Team money? Hmmm then of course our style "hyphy or mob" eventually fades away and then we'll be cryin about tha era of "02-06" in the future and how we should bring it back...

try not telling people how good you are and letting them figure it out for themselves. also you mention respect richmond artists???? if i am correct you had a fuck frontline comment in your sig and said they dont rep the rich right...... i think you have some soul searching to do... the answers are in your face..... your music isnt weak homie, you just go about it all wrong.... i think v jones erase e lil ric frontline shit too many to name all hold the rich down. and people respect they music... but to single out "richmond" as a place that gets no respect sounds like a gimic.....

And what do you mean dont tell people how good I am? I dont know what music you've been listening to but its alot of garbage going around so i have to seperate myself from the garbage therefore i make good music...look out for us too

I'm not trying to single out Richmond as a gimmick, thats my home, but i speak nuthin but the truth when i say it...

If Richie Rich (Oakland), Quinn (Frisco), or 40 (Vallejo) drops an album, everyone gets so excited and cant wait but if Lil Ric, Mafiosos, Grope 1, Fatal Konnektion, Chillee Powdah, Erase E or any legend from the Rich drops an album no one really gives a shit...

We dont get any radio time, Artists dont reach out for features but yet we always reach out...

I could go on but i decided not to cuz i have to go "soul searchin"

richmond has always put out constantly good albums
Lil Ric, Cool-E, Mafiosos, CIN, Erase E, Grope 1, have all been in my rotation since they dropped

i never really checked out Chilee Powdah much
but cool e 's first album was the most slept on shit out the bay

look man.. im just sayin... move with the times....frontline is richmond right now as far as the mass's are concerned. and if richmond supported them, then the light always comes back looking for more music from richmond.

you mention quinn, richie rich, 40 and thier city being applauded albums, well have you noticed they make good albums??? not good songs???? you write a dope verse for your song.. they write dope albums for their careers. there is a difference. humble yourself. you been on how many real albums??? with soundscan reports?? not local shit that you burned with ya folks????? im talkin real albums with distribution?? not mixtapes at rasputins. how many deals you had?? how much money you make off rap??????

fuck what other people are doing..... do you man.. set goals and achieve them. dont make unreachable goals like, "i want to be a platnium rapper". try i want to get a dist. deal and put out a real record. then say i want 500 soundscans. then say i want to do 2 shows a week and up my soundscans to 1000. then work towards radio. look man i can lead a horse to the water, but i cant make em drink.

hmmm so you're sayin Lil Ric, Fatal Konnektion, Grope 1 etc... dont make good albums? Cuz i didnt compare my group to them (40, Richie, Quinn) i compared our legends to them. I know what my group is capable of so that's never been a worry in my life. Of course we're burning shit for the homies until our names is buzzin around the Rich then we're off to the next city...

Why release an album when you're not even in the public's eye yet? You're not fuckin with some average ass niggas...we're actually thinkin ahead but where did that "1 hot verse..." shit come from? Song for song we're giving niggas problems
