There wasn't great pitchers back then.. I mean, nobody threw 100mph..

I just think he's kinda overrated. He was great for his era, but i don't think he would do anything in this era. I mean, he was way overweight and had major off-field problems.

I just doubt he could do anything against a pitcher like Clemens. But compared to players from there own era, he was definitely lightyears the best. But I think if you compare him to other eras, he's not the best, and is overrated. But, these arguments are pretty useless as there's no real way of comparing.

Sorry, Canseco's 3 RBI's in the World Series were a non-factor. He hit a 3-run HR in Game 3 which the A's won 13-7 anyway... So take him out and theoretically it's 10-7.

Dave Stewart (89 World Series MVP) and Mike Moore completely shut down the Giants, that's why the A's won the World Series in 1989.

Stewart in the 89 Series:
2-0, 16 IP, 1.69 ERA (Including a Game 1 shutout)

Moore in the 89 Series:
2-0, 13 IP, 2.08 ERA

The only guy the Giants really scored any runs against was Gene Nelson, who was only brought in to two games because they were blowouts. Otherwise, the Giants were completely overmathed the entire series.

Plus it was in an era when there were no mound regulations, so teams would build the mound up huge to give an advantage to pitchers, there were also no rules against foreign substances on the ball. Plus this fool in his first year, was the best pitcher, led the league in triples, led every team in HRs...I mean, they built Yankee stadium solely to seat all the people who came to watch him. First of all, quality is better than quantity. I've been to a lot of games at SBC and most of the fans there are fucking morons. Even the guys on KNBR who suck Giants dick for a living admit that. Here's an experiment, go to a game at SBC and when a Giants pitcher gets up in the bullpen ask 20 random people who's warming up. You're lucky if 3 people give you the right answer. Why do you think they put wireless internet at SBC? So people would have something to do when Bonds isn't batting. Most Giants fans don't know shit about baseball, don't know shit about their own team and would buy A's season tickets in a second if Bonds got traded over there.

Second, I said Canseco was a non-factor in the World Series, which is true. You're confusing yourself. If you wanna take that WS away, fine, you can take away all the rest of the rings from the steroid era as well because the A's weren't the only ones doing it. Bonds is a fraud and doesn't deserve to take Hank Aaron's record away by cheating. Palmiero is a fraud and doesn't deserve to get into the HOF by cheating. Anyone who's using that shit today has no place in baseball and deserves no recognition for what they accomplish.
