That dude said he had a gun and said he was going to use it. REGARDLESS if it was a gun or NOT, he made the move and he got lit up for it. The cops, being cops, had to take his word when he said it was a gun. I dunno the laws in Sydney, but doing what that cat did is grounds for termination in the U.S.

Some cops are dicks, some are cool. There is injustice and justice everywhere you go out here, depending on who you deal with. Fact of the matter is, when somebody says they are going to shoot you, and they move like they are drawing down on you, you shoot first and ask questions last. That goes for anybody out here, not just cops. That just so happens to be the way they train police out here...take no chances when it comes to your life. That's why when people want to die, some choose "suicide by cop"...act like they have a weapon when they really don't, and get lit up for it.

theres alot of suicide by cop all over the world and we pretty much have the same thing going on here as you guys in america do in regards to police powers, but that is not my point. The guy did not show his gun for starters, but its the fact after they shot him they didnt even check to see if he was alive/dead w/e and went straight to the dog.

Actually, quite the opposite.

I dont have a problem with cops IN GENERL. The problem i see, is that people are making rash generalizations about ALL cops. Peope have had bad experiences with the cops, so automatically all cops = pigs.

Its the same situation where people who think ALL black people are crack smoking criminals, all mexicans steal jobs, all chinese people are smart, and all jews are greedy.

I have had my fair share of bad police run ins, there is no mistaking that. Howeverm i dont HATE ALL cops. Some cops actually do their job and follow the guidelines. Now, whether people agree with those guidelines, is another story.

^^I've went over this so many times on the sicc that I'm not going to go in depth (or do a search for that matter). But yes, there could be good guys that are cops. But they are still viewed as being bad through my eyes because of the corrupt and oppressive organization they are involved in. It's similar to how I view people in the military - on one hand I'm sympathetic to SOME of the good guys that joined for various reasons (other then killing arabs) and are used by the powers that be, but on the other hand they are still apart of a terrorist organization, therefor I cannot give any of them any respect in the slightest regard.

I'm sure there are good whores out there too. Bottom line though is they are still whores, nothing can change that.

Listen, police are oppressive by nature. Always have been and always will be under our system. The entire system we live in is oppressive- the police, the army, the judicial system, the courts, the prisons, etc. It is an oppressive apparatus and the police are a part of it.

Even the so called “good cops” in reality are bad cops. These so called good cops still must enforce oppressive laws and anyone whose job is to enforce corrupt/oppressive statutes is corrupt and oppressive by proxy. The police have, throughout history, only functioned as an oppressive organization to protect and serve the ruling elite, not the majority of people. That is why I have zero respect for any police officer and that is why I believe no working class american should ever have any respect for the police.

The entire system has to change. And if it did, to something that I believe in, there would be a dramatic difference between a police force that is influenced/controlled by the rich ruling elite like we see today and a police force that is funded/controlled/influenced by average citizens of a community. In the latter, there would be no rich elite to control and manipulate the police force; there would be no rich elite to call the police to “protect” their factories and shoot-down marchers/union members, or to enforce currupt/oppressive laws, etc. There would be no rich elite to pay the police force for favors. The police would be the community.

mostly likely, that family will not see anything except the fat check they get for having a mother or wife that was killed in the line of duty. and all the free scholarships and funding they will get from private organizations.

yes i don't agree with guidelines either, and i bet you there are more sheople that actually support ALL the laws than cops that must enforce every single law (aka having an issue with a stupid law or a law that directs their family, etc.)

i agree completely, but i still give everyone respect. i will/do respect their ethnocentrism if that allows them to see that not everyone is against them.(esp. cops and military people)

all in all, i think sheriff's office is much less corrupt, and less based on awarding deputies on '# of arrests'.
