i didn't have a problem with him, obviously TO and a lot of spoiled 9er fans, even gary payton said he had a pussy arm, and wasnt the answer wanted to give him the boot. it was really on terry donahoe tho

if jeff garcia was still here, he could have made cedrick wilson decent, brandon lloyd decent, Arnaz Battle and Antonio Bryant a good tandem, Utilize Vernon Davis Speed and Strength. He had a weak arm, but he a great decision making skills.

T.O. left the same year, so I guess you would be correct. But is T.O.'s departure the reason they went downhill? Not a chance. If T.O. were here our QBs would still be misfiring and he'd just cry like a little bitch about it. Garcia was a much bigger factor in our success when he was here. Period.

The only reason people didn't like Garcia is because he was not Joe Montana/Steve Young. Those are GREAT QBs. Garcia is a good QB, but not great like Montana and Young. Spoiled ass Niner fans expected nothing less. Now we realize we won't always have Hall Of Fame QBs under center..

49ers went downhill ever since...........DeBartolo handed off the suitcase in Louisiana. The team ain't been the same since then. Even when we were winnin a couple games and meaningless playoff victories.

me and my co-workers were talking about this and I completely missed that too! Sad, but True, York and Donahue ran the niners down the sewage Pipe. They got lucky by Keeping a declining Jerry Rice, they got lucky with TO, They got Lucky with Jeff Garcia, why? Because quite frankly the niners had NO PLAN for the future, JUST REPLACEMENTS and not people they actually thought high off. LOL, talk about Luck. Now the true "plan" is starting to show. Get rid of the O-Line, get a New QB, and fix the Pass Rush!

This the TRUTH.

But in terms of the player we lost that made the most impact, it was Jeff Garcia hands down. But if Eddie D was still around, we never would have lost Garcia. Real talk.
