We gave the ball away 4 times, and still managed to keep it close. All on the strength of our defense. A loss is a loss, but at the end of the day there were definitely a lot of positives to take away from this game, and at least I can honestly say we are heading in the right direction.


Alex Smith matured a lot on that last drive, and honestly our offense as a whole is still a work in progress...but things are starting to slowly fall into place.

Our defense was very impressive though. Couldn't hold on the last drive to keep them out of FG range, but they were the reason why this game was so close in the first place.


I don't believe there is a such thing as a moral victory, in a loss...but I can't be mad at my Niners...they put up a hell of a fight, and it made for an entertaining ass game.

I can't lie though, I didn't get to watch the Raider game so I'm not sure how they played, that's cuz it was blacked out....

I swear the majority of Raider "fans" just like the team because they think it's cool or tough to be a Raider and talk shit on the "whiners"..... I would bet that overall IQ of any sports teams fans, the Raiders would be dead last......

That's not to say there aren't intelligent Raider fans that know about football out there because I know a lot of them, but I'm sick and tired of meeting people and them tellin me they are Raider fans but they can't name 5 players or what conference the team plays in......

It seems the Raiders use the Niners success or failure as a measuring stick for there team which is actually flattering and pathetic at the same time.....

I got friends that are Raiders fans, some of them are cool and real about football, but some are just fuckin idiots... It seems the Raiders just love to hate, my phone starts gettin texts from Raider fans after the loss was official but they were mighty quiet all game until then... I doubt I would have received texts saying "dope game, 9ers look hard" if we would have won......

Let's not get it fucked up. This is football. There are NO MORAL VICTORIES in football. The Niners were outplayed the whole game. They played valiantly and showed heart, which is expected due to the type of player their coach was....but the Niners showed why they aren't the team people want to make them out to be. Stupid mistakes/penalties, dumb ass turnovers. Those are the marks of a team that doesn't know how to win. They went from getting they ass whooped in week one, to fucking up an opportunity to catch the Super Bowl Champs slipping in week two.

last time I checked the Niners had a better record than the raiders and gave up less penalties last season, we are two weeks in and had harder opponents (see rams). Maybe wait till the 17th..

I wasn't saying you were one of those fans, I can respect real fans that support their team and stay current...... My family is split between Raiders and 9ers and honestly I don't hate the Raiders, it's just them dumb ass fans and the ones that love to talk shit on the 9ers that makes part of me wanna root against the Raiders, just like you hope the 9ers fail, strictly so you can talk shit to the fans...... right?

It's only natural to have a rivalry and arguments between fans about bragging rights when you have two teams in such a close area....
