Its one of the most popular for a reason, Olde English 800, it serves its purpose, its cheap, you get a good buzz, tastes fine, albeit an acquired taste. I get what Gas is saying though, although I will say its more a drink of habit then a drink of taste, or even choice...

yeah, i was drinking olde english 40s for a while. and it was out of habit...but when i started getting into more expensive brews i guess i jsut started hella getting into the taste of it...and my beer experiences started revolving around me picking up a type of beer i have a taste for that day....maybe one day i want stout and another day i want a light beer or a lager..or some belgian trippel....what i was addicted to with OE was its high alcohol content..and when i found beers that i liked as high or higher in content..i was enjoying drinking more.

but yeah.....i was drinking too much..put it to an end..but ill still buy top shelf beers every once in a while cuz i typically dont have enough money to spend to get drunk off of it. buzzed, sure. but spending 50 dollars a day on beer isnt logical.

40s and tall cans made it so i could drink all the time...which wasnt a good thing

Gas, I feel you on the top shelf beer. Sierra Nevada beers are the bizz. Have y'all tried Bigfoot? It's 9.6% ! Too bad I can't get Karl Strauss up here. But 40oz are cost effective on certain days. They should make Sierra 40oz. Bud or Bud Light just makes you wanna piss all day.
