^^^Not true at all. There is a lot of good pad players. However stick is the method of choice. Mainly because SBO is a stick only tourney but most american tourneys are pad or stick. Motions like Blanka's or Guile's supers and even Bison's are a lot easier on stick. (1)319 and (4)646. That and that most fighting games are considered an arcade sport where there is no pad.

I play Guilty Gear's I-No on pad (which most people consider impossible because of the insane level of execution) while playing most other games on stick.

In the end, whatever method works best for you is best.

I will try one of these out. However, i like the analog stick...but i like the placement of the buttons on this pad. Its nice not to have to use the triggers for a primary move.

Mad Catz struggles to meet demand for SFIV arcade stick

Speaking with Joystiq in response to an article on Eurogamer, Mad Catz PR lead, Alex Verrey, spoke candidly about the overwhelming demand and supply issue for the $150 Street Fighter IV FightStick. According to Verrey, Mad Catz originally limited the run of arcade controllers to 3,000 units but have received "many, many times that amount" in pre-orders, which caught the accessory developer off-guard.

The sticks are currently going back into production but development could take some time, so those who recently pre-ordered it will probably not have a FightStick day-and-date with Street Fighter IV. Mad Catz wouldn't share region allocation numbers with Joystiq but did say the company has every intention to meet pre-order demand. As for the other controllers, you should be fine picking one up without much hassle.

BTW I take back what I said about the Hori stick being the better. I just learned that the TE edition (the sold out one) is actually made with Sanwa stick and buttons. (although Seimitsu would have been the best choice for stick) Seth Killian is on the design team too.
