If you're about to use File>New and box appears, on it you can where it says "Resolution", and that's the dpi

For image, you go to image>image size and you can change the resolution itself...

p.s. 300 dpi is mostly used for printing

Whats the standard for like cd covers. Someone told me around 250 but wasnt positive. I know the higher that shit goes the more file space it uses right?

standard is 300 dpi and you cant just make a 72 cover into a 300...

and i believe it take up more space... but hey its 2007 if your worried about space taken by 300 vs 72 you need a upgrade sir.. haha....

^^^haha...but yea its gotta 300dpi or most printers wont fuck wit it. and you cant just change the dpi. if you were to make a cd cover in 72 dpi and chaqnge it to 300 dpi it will look like shit.

If anything you do MIGHT someday be printed, start off at 300 dpi. One dude I did his schools karate patch for wanted the design in 600 dpi though, Not sure why but it was all good.

i just dont design anything less than 300dpi. you can always size down, but you cant size up without fuckin up the qaulity. only design lower if you KNOW that its only gonna be on the web.
