7 of 8 49ers will not attend.

n.bowman and m.iupati are hurt.

j.smith, p. willis, f. gore, j. staley, v. davis are beleived to declined the invitation....
A. Brooks who made his first pro bowl looks to be the lone niner on the field.

"That's too soon," Davis said. "I also have nicks and nags that I'm dealing with, and that's another reason."

NFL tries out new clock rules at the Pro Bowl | ProFootballTalk

As the NFL continues its efforts to make the Pro Bowl seem more like a celebration of the best players in the league and less like a preseason game that is for some reason being played eight months too early and with players wearing a bunch of different helmets, different rules regarding the timing of the game are being trotted out.

The differences are as follows:

1. A two-minute warning will be added to the first and third quarters and the ball will change hands after each quarter.

2. After the two-minute warning of each quarter, if the offense does not gain at least one yard, the game clock will stop and not start again until the next snap.

3. After an incomplete pass the game clock will start on the referee’s signal, except inside the last two minutes of the first half and the last five minutes of the second half.

4. A 35/25-second play clock will be used instead of the normal 40/25-second clock.

5. The game clock will not stop after a quarterback sack at any point during the game.

The rules seem like a combination of trying to encourage more offense and trying not to allow the game to drag out too long. Some of these rules seem kind of bizarre; others seem kind of fun. None of them is likely to make a big difference, but it wouldn’t be surprising to see the NFL take a close look at a few of the rules (particularly switching the 40-second play clock to a 35-second play clock) and potentially use them in the regular season as well.

What none of these rules does, however, is force the players to take the game seriously. Which is what would really make the Pro Bowl entertaining.

NFL has no idea how to handle their all star game. Its pointless, stupid, and flat out boring to watch. Its funny becuase all the other all star games are FUNNER to watch, but its such a team sport that its boring becuase you cant do SHIT. I would rather watch them play flag football to be honest.

They need to scratch the entire idea and start over.

It is boring and lame as fuck... Its a joke. I dont think ive ever purposely watched one.

What they need to do, is instead of football, the pro bowl should be actual bowling. I seriously think people would rather see that than a bunch of uncoordinated players that half-ass everything so they dont get injured during a stupid ass pretend football game lol

IF I had to roll with a team it would be team Sanders lol....... He did scoop up all 3 Redskins that made the Pro Bowl hahahaha, most likely ain't gonna watch it tho. Shiiiiet the last time I even watched the Pro Bowl was when Chris Samuels and ST made it, ST (RIP) had that vicious hiiiiiit!

i think it was a step in the right direction trying to improve it and make it something to look forward too as the season when the season is finished and every other teams been knocked out of the super bowl run.

that said step being cash incentives, defensive and offensive mvps..
but like 707 said they really need to bring back the skills competition.

im still interested in seeing the game with the teammate vs teammate match-ups
and cuz once someone wins the bowl... no football for too fuckin long!
