Michigan is the only southern state in the north, anyways...flint and detroit are the 2 worst cities in america to live in IMO, simply because the poverty, crime, and vacancy of the cities which used to be much larger. Detroit is now under 1 million people, back in the day it was on pace to be 2 million, same for flint which used to 200,000 which on the latest census was 124,000 and is said to be under 115,000 now. This is all in part because of the car industry there and all the factory closings, but another city which would be a top 5 crime rated city if not for being 6,000 people too small is saginaw, the crim rate there is higher than both detroit and flint i believe. Benton Harbor is also up there with them too.
