please understand you can eat good by servicing 20 stores in driving distance and few shipping.

1. make the call find out who is the buyer and take there name and fax

2. fax them 1 sheets to inform them of your project

3. call back to make sure they got it

4. secure term of contract c.o.d or 30 day payout

5. give em a good deal $5 per cd

1000 cds @ $5 eqauls $5000

do this at least once a month or more and you will touch a nice $60,000 a year

dam JT, you the professor on this board now. I think many people are taking notes on most of what you say. Thats really killer on your part to share your knowledge. I think you know that in the long run you will come out gaining more by opening yourself up to all who want to learn. Keep up the good work. You are gaining much props from the fans and maybe more jelousy form the competition becuase you out smarting, out marketing and just plain working long hours to get things done! Its not difficult to be successful in anything if you have a plan , learn from the people at the top to see how they running things and last just plain blood and sweat!

some people just aint driven enough to get their shit in stores. You have to SELL it to the buyers, they aint gonna just buy it cause it is cheap. If you aint fot any sales and marketing background and your personality aint pleasing, they probably wont fuck with you.

Plus you gotta put out a good product. if they choose to take a chance on you, they will only do it once. after that, it will be completely on how yor last album sold

they struggle because they arent working smart. You are right though you gotta be carefull of putting to many cd's at once. Jt is the master of this, he plain wants to get paid. He is smart and knows the more he puts out there the more possibility of filling the bank. Hopefully he knows that if he starts turning out garbage and rushing to put cd's to market that buyers will sense that. People will not buy and he will see sales decline if putting out rushed garbage. Once you loose peoples trust in your product , its almost impossible to get them back. Word of mouth is the best advertising so take the time to put out quality stuff!

jt. i understand a store buyign your shit for cheap but is it really like that. i mean will stores buy from anyold body who goes and trys to sale to them. i mean ofcourse they buy GETLOW products if they comin that cheap cuzz you already got a followign out here but for undergroudn cats who comin wit there first release is it the same way. I think you might get lucky at a moms and pops but at tower or sumthin? i think they'd just take shit on consignment and u mite get paid if folks is rushin to the store to cop your shit. just my questions and thoughts..but thas game for free form one of the 1st to do it

Easier said then done.....I'm sure J.T. can do it but how about the lesser known folks....it's easy to sell when you got a name like J.T.
All ya gots to do is drop it off....as for someone straight starting off.....man...selling 1,000 copies is HARD!!I can't even get my
folks to buy a copy!!

id sure like to see that happen...lol it never would, name 10 stores that would BUY, not COSIGN 1,000 copies of a virtually unknown artist? its obvious you got hustle jt, but dont sell these people pipe dreams cuz that will only water down the game more then it already is. and you wouldnt be making 5000, where does that start up capital come from? last time i checked promo and pressing wasnt free. after costs you will walk away with at least half if not less. oh yea we forgot about one thing TAXES! its not profesional to not pay your taxes....lol
