2 Shot In Argument After Petaluma Hip-Hop Concert
PETALUMA (BCN) ― Police were investigating a double shooting that happened late Saturday night following an argument that started during a Petaluma hip-hop concert.

At 11:59 p.m., officers were dispatched to the Keller Street Garage on a report of a fight. As officers entered the garage, several shots were fired.

About 50 people fled the garage. Officers located two people on the first floor of the garage who had been shot. Both shooting victims were transported to a nearby hospital to be treated for wounds that were not considered to be life threatening, according to police.

The fight in the garage resulted from a confrontation that started at the Phoenix Theatre, which was hosting a concert.

Two people were shot in Petaluma late Saturday after a confrontation that police said started at a hyphy concert at the Phoenix Theater and continued in a city parking garage.

Just before midnight Sunday, officers responded to reports of a fight involving several people inside the Keller Street parking garage, police Sgt. Jim Stephenson said in a news release.

As officers entered, they heard several shots, and about 50 people fled the garage, he said.

Police said they found two people with gunshot wounds on the first floor. One was taken by ambulance to Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital, and the other was driven there by a citizen.

Neither person's wounds were life-threatening, according to Stephenson.

Police did not provide any other information about the victims, and calls seeking details weren't returned Sunday.

Stephenson said the fight in the garage stemmed from a confrontation that started in the nearby Phoenix Theater. The theater, an all-ages music hall and teen center, was holding a hyphy, or hip-hop, show Saturday night, he said.

According to the theater's MySpace page, the 8 p.m. show included hyphy and rap performances by Mistah F.A.B., J Diggs, Rydah J Klyde and Glasses Malone.

This is the second gun-related incident involving Phoenix Theater hyphy concerts this year.

In January, police arrested a Concord 17-year-old who they said was kicked out of the theater and retrieved a gun from his car. Police said he was carrying a loaded 9 mm pistol when they chased him down outside the club.

After the incident, Phoenix managers said they would increase security at future rap shows and would consider booking similar shows on a case-by-case basis.

^^^abe lincoln 1865

After an afternoon carriage ride and dinner, Mary complained of a headache and considered not going after all. Lincoln commented that he was feeling a bit tired himself, but he needed a laugh and was intent on going with or without her. She relented. He made a quick trip to the War Department with his body guard, William Crook, but there was no news from North Carolina. While returning to pick up Mary, Crook "almost begged" Lincoln not to go to the theater. He then asked if he could go along as an extra guard. Lincoln rejected both suggestions, shrugging off Crook's fears of assassination. Lincoln knew that a guard would be posted outside their "state box" at the theater.

Arriving after the play had started, the two couples swept up the stairs and into their seats. The box door was closed, but not locked. As the play progressed, police guard John Parker, a notorious drinker, left his post in the hallway leading to the box and went across the street for a drink. During the third act, the President and Mrs. Lincoln drew closer together, holding hands while enjoying the play. Behind them, the door opened and a man stepped into the box. Pointing a derringer at the back of Lincoln's head, he pulled the trigger. Mary reached out to her slumping husband and began shrieking. Now wielding a dagger, the man yelled, "Sic semper tyrannis!" ("Thus always to tyrants"), slashed Rathbone's arm open to the bone, and then leapt from the box. Catching his spur in a flag, he crashed to the stage, breaking his left shin in the fall. Rathbone and Harris both yelled for someone to stop him, but he escaped out the back stage door.
