But the rivalry is not enough to generate record sales. It's not in the top 5 or top 10 in PPV numbers...if Floyd fights Pacquiao or Amir Khan...or Pacquaio vs Amir Khan any combination of those 3 fighterwill sell more than Cotto vs Canelo.
If Floyd fights Khan, on the day Canelo and Cotto fights.he loses. If Pac fights Khan on the same date they lose. Floyd pac wins. What we are telling you is that the rival between the racial groups is enough to sell the fight. Again, how many top ten puerto rican fighters have fought a top mexican fighter?

There is no debate, Cotto vs CANELO IS fucking huge. 2.2 million people bought Canelo vs Mayweather. It was 2.2 million because Floyd was fighting Canelo. He didn't break a million fighting Guerrero or Maidana. Or Ortiz. Canelo is a huge Mexican star. Cotto is regarded as one of boxings biggest stars. They both are coming off good wins and with Cotto's lineal middleweight title on the line it had historical significance. There has never been a Mexican lineal middleweight champion before

Yeah but the Canelo hype has took a hit since Floyd. I'm just going by the message boards that comment on the guy. I use to do security at a Mexican bar for around 3-4 years and I enjoyed watching fights amongst them more than I did my own people because they REALLY GOT INTO IT. So I understand the rivalry but I'm just leery of the market. I would feel better if either of them...had already beat GGG (maybe Cotto) and Canelo had done the Clottey fight and won...then 1 million assuredly...but I hope I'm wrong cause I like both dudes.

The American audience will gravitate more to the Floyd, Pacquaio, Khan fight simply because they speak English. There hasn't been a Puerto Rican vs Puerto Rican or Mexican vs Mexican that tops any PPV list. Amir Khan is a very LIVE DOG for either Floyd or Manny.

Also there is...NO...absolutely NO speed factor involved in Canelo and Cotto...but Khan, Pacquaio and Mayweather is a question of who's fastest, who gets off first, and who can string together combinations. Can Floyd's vaunted defense shut down either of theses high octane offenses by Pac or Khan? Can khan outbox both older fighters? Can Manny hit on all cylinders at all angles and overwhelm Floyd or Khan? Much more material to work with.

its all about the promo man. a mexican, fighting a boricua, on cinco de mayo weekend? all they need to do is do some promo in new york, l.a., mexico, puerto rico, get the people pumped. have cotto take some sly shots at mexicans, have canelo take some shots at boricuas and we got sum serious ppv buys. even with minimal promo itll do like u said 600k to 700k. but if they do some great promo runs, shit a million is not far fetched.

Nah Canelo didn't take a hit for losing to Floyd. He's a young star and a huge one at that. Oscar lost plenty of times and he still was the biggest cash cow. Mexican fans aren't going to stop cheering for a guy because he lost to the best fighter on the planet by decision. If he got KTFO or something like that sure there might be a dip but most people just saw it as a learning experience for the young ginger. Prior to Floyd he only fought one really decent opponent and that was Trout, yet it still did 2.2 million buys. Now the ginger had added Angulo and Lara to boost his resume, and if he's going to fight a rival Puerto Rican on cinco de mayo for the true lineal middleweight crown? Lol that's big man. On top of the Mexican and Puerto Rican fan bases this is a big fight for the boxing community in general, so there will be hundreds of thousands of non Mexican/Puerto Ricans buying this too. A million buys easy (on that date). Over 750k any other day easy.

Listen, in a head to head on a weekend dedicated to LATIN people, the only way Floyd or PAC will win is if they fight each other. Floyd vs Khan doesn't win and Pac vs Khan doesn't win. The will play the race card and then it's a wrap. Speaking English has nothing to do with anything, lol.

I'm not gonna be stubborn with my opinion...obviously I'm in the minority as to how I feel about this...so if I'm wrong T-Rip is $100 richer. If I'm right...you ALL can acknowledge me...if only for a day...as your (you know the rest).
I won't acknowledge you as that. I will do a mix for one of your records if you are correct (32 track limit and no auto tune.)

After you mix it...can you direct me to who does analog mastering with "out board gear"...I haven't been up in what's current so excuse me? I'm not an engineer.
Well that is assuming you win, lol. But yeah, all the mastering engineers I know use outboard gear. And if You're looking to dump it to tape that can be arranged as well (but a bit more expensive due to head rental fees and cost of tape.) The main question to ask yourself at that stage is does the mastering engineer understand your project, your needs and do you need to be there (physically) or can it be done without you. The reason I ask is a lot of guys, especially those out of state, are charging less if you are not present for the session, so if money is an issue you may want to go that route. I have a list of good people though, hit me on PM so we won't derailt his thread, pimp.
