both albums are really overrated imo. the follow ups (wu tang forever, chronic 2001) was better.

fuck both these albums for real though bc i bump neither now bc they sound outdated and got played out to me like a decade ago especially the chronic.

Wu Tang! Wu tang! The Rza was the only producer, no ghost writing, and no diss tracks to hype it up. I love the Chronic but Wu wins hands down

those diss traccs werent no hype shit tho, they were really funkin in the streets at the time this album dropped, plus eazy-e shit n snoop's doggystyle. wu-tang always got put on the bacc burner for me. not even in my top 5 for east coast music.

I mean the Chronic was tight to me back in the day, but the main thing was it's features n beats. It took me awhile to realize that n it became played out to me. Back in the day at some point, I'd probably vote for Dre, but I became more open to music n my love for music grew. I couldn't understand why some of the homies were making fun of how I liked the Chronic, but basically they were saying it was mainly just beats that it had going. I wasn't really open to listen to Wu, until my homeboy lent me 36 Chambers! Thought it was dope n even though that one's played out to me to, it still comes down to the fact all the Wu members can beat Dre lyrically n they got dope beats to!

I don't quite understand the "It got played out to me" arguments people are constantly bringing.

Of course these albums will get played out after 20 years and being played so much, no matter how great they are.

Til this day everyone still freestyles over CREAM, not so much over any Chronic tracks, and even Dre said "its all entertainment" so yeah it was just a hype job.
