Kobe Bryant

Today at 3:36am*·*This is such BS! All the training and sacrifice just flew out the window with one step that I've done millions of times! The frustration is unbearable. The anger is rage. Why the hell did this happen ?!? Makes no damn sense. Now I'm supposed to come back from this and be the same player Or better at 35?!? How in the world am I supposed to do that??*I have NO CLUE. Do I have the consistent will to overcome this thing? Maybe I should break out the rocking chair and reminisce on the career that*was. Maybe this is how my book*ends. Maybe Father Time has defeated me...Then again maybe not! It's 3:30am, my foot feels like dead weight, my head is spinning from the pain meds and I'm wide awake. Forgive my Venting but what's the purpose of social media if I won't bring it to you Real No Image?? Feels good to vent, let it out. To feel as if THIS is the WORST thing EVER! Because After ALL the venting, a real perspective sets in. There are far greater issues/challenges in the world then a torn achilles. Stop feeling sorry for yourself, find the silver lining and get to work with the same belief, same drive and same conviction as ever.*One day, the beginning of a new career journey will commence. Today is NOT that day.*"If you see me in a fight with a bear, prey for the bear". Ive always loved that quote. Thats "mamba mentality" we don't quit, we don't cower, we don't run. We endure and conquer.*I know it's a long post but I'm Facebook Venting LOL. Maybe now I can actually get some sleep and be excited for surgery tomorrow. First step of a new challenge.*Guess I will be Coach Vino the rest of this season. I have faith in my teammates. They will come thru.*Thank you for all your prayers and support. Much Love Always.*Mamba Out

Man, can't hate on that. I'm not a Kobe fan at all, but you know that was real spit. #respect

That honestly just sounds like one big bitch session and sounds like some crybaby Nancy Kerrigan type stuff. It happens man. That kid from Louisville sustained a horrific injury and handled it much better than Kobe handled that.

^^^ Ya well the kid from Louisville hasnt been in the NBA 17 seasons getting 5 rings in the process and still one of the top players at age 34 and still ballen like hes 27 and also never had a serous injury like this until now. Kobe had that wrist injury but he was still able to play.

Not even remotely the same situation - Kevin Ware was the sixth man on the roster, and they actually won the title after that, while we all know how much responsibility Kobe was carrying and what will happen in the first around of the playoffs or even before that without him. Plus a torn achilles is actually worse for one's career than that leg break, as horrific as it was.

he either has to retire or its amnesty time. because unless he gets some potent fetuses to feast on in the offseason in Germany, i dont see why the lakers would pay him 30 millie to rehab.
More like 80 with all the luxury tax they have to pay.

They could easily amnesty, have him sit out and heal, rebuild and then sign him again for the season after next. But he would have to sit out a few more months than he might otherwise for that scenario to work out and I can't imagine him agreeing on it

doesn't change the fact that he sounds like a bitch. Can you picture Jordan doing that? Wilt? Magic? Dude got HIV and didn't cry like that.
All the legends cry, basketball is all they've known their whole life. They are the best in the world at their craft, and they breakdown when they realize they can no longer do what they love at an elite level that their accustomed to performing at.

Holding physical tears back in public is much harder to hold back than words that you're typing at home
Great point, but with social media it's a lot easier now for these athletes to communicate with their fans. Myspace, Twitter, and Facebook weren't around when Magic and Jordan were in their prime. Who knows what type of reaction they would have if they were in the same situation as #24.

so now the coward is the leader of the lakers and the future. how you feel about that ironlungs? maybe you guys can get lebron over there.
In a fucked up way I think Kobe going down means it's a lock now Dwight will sign a max deal with the Lakers. He wanted the lakers to be his, well here's his chance to take over. I'm good with Dwight as the leader of this team, I've seen him lead a team to the finals before.

Lebron would be the icing on the cake if he came over 2014. This is the scenario I'm hoping for,

Trade: Gasol+Artest for a box of rocks
Keep: Earl Clark and Jordan Hill
Let everyones contracts expire and tank 2013-14 that way we end up with the #1 in 2014. That pick translates into Andrew wiggins.

2014-15 line up
PG: Kobe
SG: Andrew Wiggins
SF: Lebron/Gay/C. Anthony one of the 3 will join
PF: Kevin Love or Chris Bosh
C: D Howard

Next season is a wrap 2014 is what the lakeshow have been prepping for these past two seasons.

just wondering, but what exactly makes you think lebron would sign with the lakers? i can understand kevin love, since he did go to ucla.........
I think Wade is great but his drop off is coming soon same with bosh, LeBron isn't stupid he knows that. He's not going to hang around and show the heat loyalty. He's going to do what he does best and that's going ring chasing, and what better place to do that. Also the success of his brand goes hand in hand with winning.

With all that said I don't think its a lock he will be a laker. Much like the last time LeBron hit free agency not 1 not 2 but about a dozen teams cleared cap room just to get a shot at acquiring him. So it will be competitive but i don't see how the lakers aren't one of LeBron's top 3 destinations.
