Some of his shit was on par with Dr. Dre
I don't really feel like rehashing all this but dude, Dre is a hack. Dude is known for stealing beats then tweaking them as his own back in the day and then blackballing people that tried to call him out. Why do you think he majorly fell of production wise when it became rather easy and cheap to copyright your stuff before sending it out in the early 2000s.

All that said I wouldn't be surprised if Daz co/ghost produced a lot for Dre when they fucked with each other heavy.

I believe Daz probably did ghostwrite some of those beats. The best beats from day 1 have been sampled though. Dre just did it the best at that time, regardless of tactics. He still had hits without sampling after that.

The first "successful" rap song ever was "Rapper's Delight" which sampled a semi-popular disco track. At least 50% of the best tracks of all time are sample-based, so I will never knock it

People get confused... Dre is not the best "beat maker"... as a producer is is amazing. He knows how to get talented people together, and turn out a good product.

Sort of like a coach... might not be best player, but can get a team of best player to play well and be champions.

That is how I view it.

Who said anything about sampling, bro, Dre used to straight up STEAL beats that were sent to the labels he was on at the time and claim them as his own after fucking with them a little. I'm not saying he did that 100% of the time but he was known for doing it a lot. I can't even recall what issue but Cold187um from Above the Law touched on this in Murderdog back in the day. He watched it happen time and time again when he worked with Dre.

Too say Dre doesn't or didn't have a nack for picking talent to work with, and a ear for hits is silly.
Again, who is saying this? Also what does that have to do with Dre jacking beats?

I also wouldn't disagree with you there either but that doesn't make him stealing beats and claiming them as his own a wash out either because of that.
