I wonder if you seen said rapper in person would you say something to his face. Also do you listen to these "bay rappers" or do you listen to some other bubble gum shit.
Same difference would be asked if you were to meet face to face with a mainstream / "bubblegum" rapper.

It's hilarious to me how some people categorize artist they dislike simply because they have an impression of that artist by his / her music.

What's even more hilarious would be somebody like let's just say, Justin Timberlake example, would put some serious hands on your favorite rapper & lay him out cold LMAO!

On a serious note: What's wrong with just being yourself and admitting you are a struggling artist who's trying to make it? That's the way it was & people were more prone to support.

Now a days everybody is "Hustling," "Trying to eat." "Have kids to feed," "Doing it big" etc. The rap game is not welfare or a charity. You got kids to feed? Get yourself a fuckin' job Homie. Don't tell me how famous your going to be or how tight you are for me to pay you. Or your selling verses because that's how you eat and feed your family. I give two shits about that. Believing your time is valuable and you should be paid for it is hilarious. Your not famous or have shit to do. That hustle is shallow & played out.

Nobody wants to admit they work a regular job to survive. Everybody is a rapper or musically inclined. They've been into music since they were kids. Everybody is talented, but the reality is, they're not musically inclined, they're not talented & being into music as a kid is the norm. That doesn't make you an inspiring artist from day one.

Of course there are some artist who are cut from that cloth & were born to be into music & be performers / entertainers. But since the rap thing came into play and it was accessible to record & make beats on your home computer, everybody & they're mama became rappers and producers. Even the ones who don't rap or produce all of a sudden became managers. Having no knowledge of what is the exact job description of a being manger is all about.

Everybody is seriously going out of their way to portray an image of having money. From the broke ass rapper who's trying to sell his verses & his Cd's to the regular John Doe on social networks like Facebook & down to the underground barber who cuts hair out of his garage. Everybody is supposedly making money & doing it big.

Nobody wants to admit they're struggling now a days. Swap meet chains, Phantom kits, money stacks & a whole lot of gum bumping do not make you a famous rich rapper. They're showing everything, but the hit record as I've stated before.

The excuse of not measuring success by being on T.V. or the radio etc. is a crock of shit. Many will claim they don't need or ever do that, but I've watched a whole lot of people turn bitch & ride coat tails to get their 15 minutes of fame. Anything to get famous. They claim they won't sell out, but if they're Homie or someone they did a song with becomes semi famous they're the first to turn bitch and ride that man's dick.

This is happening everywhere. The music is fading, the rich image is what's in & what remains is a whole talk of how much money everybody is making. In reality everybody is broke or highly in debt for trying to keep up with the Jones'.

FACT OR FICTION?

Why is it that when i actually meet some of the artists I listen, they end up being as phony as a $6 bill? Really dough why dudes have to lie to kick it on their albums?

Ive seen some dudes talkin bout they got Lambo's and millions and then i see them in a 96 Acura with a cracked windshield and sticker in the window or they got an Enterprise sticker on "their" new Camaro they riding around town in.

Quit flossin yo homies car like its yours, taking pictures of other peoples houses THAT AINT YOURS!!!

why you gotta front for? Dont tryn make ya Chrysler 300 look like a Phantom with them wack ass body modifications. Wearing the homies chain in your pictures and frontin on Instagram like you livin large?

like the big homie said

AINT NO FUTURE IN YA FRONT!!!
It's not just bay area rappers. It's rappers period. I've been lucky enough to get to know quite a few of them. A lot of disapointments. But a lot were the real deal as well. Just depends. Example. . . Kokane = One of the realest cats out there. . .

It's true it dont matter who the rapper is. I guess it depends how old you are cause the older you get it seems like that shit matters more. I'm getting older too so I can see where some people are coming from. It's just I don't get too involved with rappers lives. Also when 90 percent of people burn their shit what do you expect them to survive on. A lot of older rappers are not really dedicated to the dope game anymore. I would think and hope they have other means of making money.

i have a friend that is my age that believes he will get signed to a label someday. he lives at home with his mom and fucks off any little money he gets on bullshit like alcohol, trees, clothes etc. i tell him even if he does get signed he might get a couple hundered thousand after taxes and other peoples cut. i tell him that if he cant make that much money on his own then why the hell would anybody loan him that much? i also tell him that he could just get a job and make more than that couple hundered thousand over a few years depending on salary so why not just go work? you see he would rather dream about getting a big pay day then waking up going to work and get actually getting paid. this is why i dont do too much music anymore personally. id rather go to work and make money than waste my time making music while i dream about getting a big pay day. even when i get paid to help others with their music i still make less than minimum wage so i dont waste too much time with that either unless i actually want to help someone. i have dealt with a lot of drama in the music business and it was rarely over any actual money, it was usualy drama about the money that would one day magically come when one gets a deal or makes it big. i have yet to see any of that happen. this music shit isnt that serious. it is petty at best. anyone that will lead you to believe differently is respnsible for how wak the rap shit is. my advice to anyone would be to go to school and get a job. that is advice for rappers, hustlers, gangsters, squares, knocks etc. dont wait till your my age living with your parents to wake up and face reality because if you are misguided i guarantee that more often than not you will not end up anywhere but broke, dead, or in jail. this is nothing new and something everyone should know.

exactly.

truth is if someone 25 years and over and still dont have fans or a buzz they need to give rapping up unless they doing it for fun bc nine times outta 10 they are not getting signed nor they not making no profit. now if someone has real fanbase(not family members being nice to your face) checking for them then they should keep at it and grind out on they own bc they can make some type of money but still not guranteed a deal. in this day and age it takes more then some skills to make it. if you not drawing audience, feedback or numbers then you never gonna get signed.

problem with people these days is they think they gonna make it or think they a rapper bc they can rhyme or bc they performing at some hole in the wall dollar draft night sports bar. fools be looking like clowns.

Its like just bc a nigga can shoot some hook shots at a community center dont mean he going to the NBA.
