All I can say is Floyd gave this punk a 14 day cut off and Manny still refused to let the fight go through. Manny let another fighter have the opportunity of dethroning the king. What type of fighter would let that chance go by. Shane jumped on the deal like a real man. While Manny, ran back to his country on some other shit. By letting Floyd go was a dumb ass mistake. It is now plain that Floyd is the one and only main attraction of boxing. When and if they get back to the bargaining table I bet it's a 60/40 deal. Manny and his stupid team have now realized their moves have placed them behind the eight ball. FLOYD MONEY MAYWEATHER is the biggest name in boxing and the Pac team let him go out and prove it. Anyone that brings up the issue of taking a drug test after the fight...the damage would have already been done and you can't erase the "L" off of Floyd's record.

I know there are Pacman fans who will read this thread. I just don't see how you can defend this man. He should at least have the balls to stand up for the sport of boxing to let it be said that it athletes care about their image. You have to realize that if other boxers start adopting Floyd's position Floyd will go down as not only one of the greatest fighters ever but also one of its greatest ambassadors. Manny had a chance to stand in that same dignified light by saying "I also would like to promote a more thorough drug testing as issued by the USDA." He didn't do it...for his own hidden motives, and selfishness. His fans should feel shame for following this questionable fighter.

Shane agrees to the stipulation and the fight is on...same goes for Manny. Manny will continue do his work in the clouded murky cesspool of "Is he of isn't he on peds?" Floyd will fight and retire with no question of his greatness because he took every challenge head on...like a man.

Thank you Shane Mosley for redeeming your past choices and thank you Floyd for bring a new day to a beautiful sport.

Ambassador? no. Floyd and his family accuse Pacquiao (without any evidence) because they don't like the thought of another fighter that can actually compete with him.

You can say Pacquiao uses steriods. Maybe he does. Maybe he's ducking Floyd. Maybe that's true. Floyd can be the best p4p fighter in the world. He has a great arguement. He's the biggest cash cow in the game. Fine. I'm cool with that.

But when you start to actually believe that Floyd is about this testing to ''clean up the sport'', because he loves it so much, and wants to cleanse the sport of all of the cheating and just wants an even playing field, and it hurts him, really hurts him, man, inside, because his love, his baby, the sport of boxing, is dirty, and the people, you and me, are being cheated, too, you've lost your goddamn mind, or your mouth is wrapped around his dick so hard you've lost conciousness.

The only reason Floyd does ANYTHING is for money. There's nothing wrong with that. More power to him. But at least call it like it is.

Jesus Christ.

You're a moron if you think this demand for additional testing has anything to do with cleaning up the sport.

Tell me this:

When throughout his 18 month layoff, did Floyd ever address the need for improvements in the drug testing of state mandated athletic commissions?

As a matter of fact, find me some time before the whole circus with Pacquiao, where Floyd ever addressed this.

The fact of the matter is that the additional testing was used as part of a way to gain a psychological edge in a fight against Pacquiao, and it totally backfired. Both Thomas Hauser and Al Bernstein, have claimed the same thing.

If Floyd was so concerned about the sport, why wouldn't he lobby the athletic commission instead of making the additional testing part of the contract negotiations?

By the way, Bay Area. I was at the fight. There were several hundreds of seats still available, and EMPTY. They were comping tickets as early as Friday morning, to try and fill seats. Some cash cow huh? Same thing with the Marquez fight in September, several hundred, if not thousand empty seats, even after comping practically anyone who would take a free seat to the fight.

I am not doubting the guy's selling power. Obviously, he knows how to sell a fight. But I'm speaking from my own personal experience. That arena was far from filled, let alone sold out.

"Arum made it clear that both he and Pacquiao are standing firm on a 24-day cut-off period for the random blood tests and the previously agreed upon 50-50 split on the money. Arum told us “all I’m saying, right now we are holding to our position.”

In other words: Pacman don't want none!!! After beating Shane like way he did, Floyd gained leverage in negotiations but like Arum has stated "we are holding our position".

They don't want nothing to do with Floyd period. So they'd rather fight someone else that they know Manny will beat. We might as well stop discussing a Floyd vs Pacman match because it's obvious Pacman is ducking Floyd.

Pacquiao-Mayweather still possibility

Now that Floyd Mayweather Jr. has dispatched Shane Mosley, talk immediately turned to the potential showdown with Manny Pacquiao, who has apparently softened his stance on the drug testing procedures that derailed their negotiations in January.

pacquiao and Mayweather, universally regarded as the top two fighters in boxing, tried to make the mega fight in December and January.

The camps had agreed on all terms except for the way to handle drug testing for what many believe would be the biggest money fight in boxing history. The all-time pay-per-view record of 2.45 million was set in Mayweather's victory against Oscar De La Hoya in 2007.

When Pacquiao and Mayweather reached an impasse, Pacquiao went on to easily defeat Joshua Clottey on March 13 and Mayweather took a lopsided unanimous decision against Mosley in their welterweight super fight on Saturday night.

Mayweather, who accused Pacquiao of using performance-enhancing drugs despite having no evidence, had insisted on strict blood and urine testing, which was employed during the lead-up and immediate aftermath of his fight with Mosley.

Pacquiao, who has a defamation lawsuit pending against Mayweather and his team over the accusations, agreed to unlimited urine testing -- but with limits on how many blood tests he would take and how close to the fight he would agree to be tested.

Now, less than 48 hours after Mayweather's victory, Pacquiao seems to be in a compromising mood in order to make a fight for which official negotiations have not yet begun.

"I am willing to help the sport for the future of the sport. I do not want to see anyone cheat or cheat this sport. For that reason I am willing to consider taking blood [tests] as close as 14 days prior to the fight, as long as my opponent does the same, and it is not a lot of blood, just enough to test," Pacquiao is quoted as saying on his official website.

Mayweather has no issue undergoing the same kind of testing as his opponent.

During the previous negotiation, Pacquiao had insisted on a cut-off of blood testing 30 days before the fight and eventually moved to 24 days when it came to light that he had taken a blood test during that time frame before his second-round knockout of Ricky Hatton in May 2009.

Pacquiao had agreed all along to take a blood test immediately after the fight.

"I do not want anyone having an unfair advantage where someone may get hurt," said Pacquiao, who is in the final days of his congressional campaign in the Philippines. "I am willing to do my part to help this sport out."

Pacquiao had said previously he did not want to have blood drawn too close to the fight because he feels like it weakens him.

"Mayweather is the furthest thing on our mind," Michael Koncz, Pacquiao's adviser, said in a statement to Pacquiao's website. "Our focus has been and continues to be Manny's desire to become congressman."

Following the election, Pacquiao and his family are expected to go on vacation and the fighter will discuss his next bout upon his return.

"As Manny has stated many times, we are willing to fight anyone, anytime, anywhere in accordance with the athletic commission's rules and regulations in which ever state we fight in," Koncz said. "We will not be bullied into or entertain any additional rules or regulations to be imposed by our opponent."

Top Rank's Bob Arum, Pacquiao's promoter is headed to the Philippines to support Pacquiao in the final days of his campaign. He told ESPN.com on Monday that during the trip he will not talk to Pacquiao about Mayweather, drug testing or any boxing business.

"As far as I am concerned, I am not even going to raise anything," Arum said. "We're not even going to talk about future plans until after election and that's the truth.

"I have no thoughts about the other stuff but I have an open mind to everything. Obviously, he's my fighter and I will do what he asks me to do, but there's a time for everything. And the time is not now."

Mayweather said after the fight Saturday night that he would fight Pacquiao under the same kind of Olympic-style testing used for the fight with Mosley.

"If he wants to fight it's not that hard to find me," Mayweather said. "We tried to fight before and it didn't work, and we moved on. Mosley did what I asked him to do and if every athlete in the sport would do that, we know we would have a clean sport. Everyone should take the test. I am willing to take the tests. If Manny takes the test we can make the fight happen. If he doesn't we don't have a fight."

Let the insults go bro. Let's just talk boxing:

Arum: Pacquiao Won't Make Concessions, Quotes Are Fake

By Ronnie Nathanielsz

Top Rank promoter Bob Arum tells ***********.com that pound-for-pound king Manny Pacquiao will not make any concessions in order to ensure that a mega-buck fight against Floyd Mayweather Jr. takes place. He branded numerous internet reports claiming Pacquiao agreed to a 14-day cut-off on the drug testing as “totally false.”

Arum made it clear that both he and Pacquiao are standing firm on a 24-day cut-off period for the random blood tests and the previously agreed upon 50-50 split on the money. Arum told us “all I’m saying, right now we are holding to our position.”

Discussing the Mayweather-Mosley fight Arum said “Mosley really got old and slow and offered no opposition. If Manny had hurt Floyd the way Mosley did in the second round he wouldn’t have stopped till he took him out.”

He said Mosley “had no energy, had no rhythm, had no speed and his trainer (Naazim) Richardson was telling him what to do and he couldn’t do it.”

Arum said that should a Mayweather fight not materialize, Pacquiao has several options. The first would be a possible fight against former champion Antonio Margarito who takes on Roberto Garcia in Margarito’s first fight after a one year layoff due to a suspension slapped on him by the California State Athletic Commission over the use of padding in his hand-wraps before his fight against Mosley last January.

Arum also raised the possibility of a rematch with Miguel Cotto from whom Pacquiao won the WBO welterweight title with a 12th round TKO last November.

Arum told ***********.com, insidesports.ph, Standard Today and Viva Sports “if Cotto beats Yuri Foreman, Manny may want to fight Cotto at 150 pounds for the junior middleweight title in a rematch.” Arum added, “that fight is sellable because Cotto has Emanuel Steward training him etc.”

Arum is arriving in Manila early Thursday morning and will take a connecting flight to General Santos City where he will stay until Tuesday, May 11 which is one day after the Philippine presidential elections in which Pacquiao is running for the lone congressional seat in Sarangani against Roy Chiongbian of the wealthy and politically entrenched Chiongian dynasty.

In the meantime Keith Kizer, executive director of the Nevada State Athletic Commission disclosed that both Mayweather and Mosley had “at least 5 urine tests tests each for Mayweather and Mosley and at least 5 blood tests for Mayweather and 6 blood tests for Mosley.”

Kizer was unable to confirm the claim by Pacquiao’s conditioning expert Alex Ariza that the US Anti Doping Agency subjected Mosley to a blood test one day before he arrived in Las Vegas on fight week. However, Kizer said Mosley’s first test was on March 23 and Mayweather’s on March 22.

Following a report that said the blood tests cost $20,000 Kizer said he didn’t know how much the tests cost and who paid for them. At the same time he said with the random blood test issue being raised, the NSAC “always revisit our drug testing policies and have made several changes thereto over the years. I do not know what changes the Commission may make in the future.”

shane mosley refused to take extra drug tests when zab judah asked for them. Sugar Ray Leonard refused to take extra drug tests when Tommy Hearns asked for them in the rematch. Does it mean they were dirty? nope.

My whole thing is it shouldn't be one guy dictating how the sport is ran. That would be like the Celtics saying we aren't playing against Lebron James unless he takes additional tests done only by the Olympic Doping Agency. Or it would be like Anderson Silva in the UFC saying he's not going to fight 'so and so' unless they take his drug tests (dana white would be like shut up bitch and fight!)

Now, with that said, I think a comprise can and will be made. On top of that, I also believe the Nevada State Athletics Commission is going to implement a more efficient, and random, drug testing policy for title fights. And that's great and that's the way it should be. Until then though, fighters shouldn't be forced to do additional shit demanded by one single guy, especially without the burden of proof.

But I guess thats what happens when there is a guy as big as mayweather, he feels he can do whatever he wants. I mean the guy refused to win the belt against Mosley. Do people realize that? That Floyd is NOT a welterweight champion and Shane Mosley is STILL the WBA champ? lol that's floyd for you. He does his own thing

I feel you somewhat, but I wouldn't call it "force". It's more of a "choice". You either take it or leave it.

to me it's forcing because at the same time he (and his people) are painting pacquiao in a negative light, they are making him look like the bad guy even though pacquiao hasn't done anything unreasonable.

This is a fight the public want more than any other fight and by doing what they are doing it hurts only the fighters. People are taking sides. It's either floyd is scared or pacquiao has something to hide. That isn't helping the sport, imo.

I don't think Manny is on PED's but he could be and the only way to prove that he is not is by taking the test. There are cheaters in every sport who use PED's. Sometimes they get busted and sometimes they don't. But the only way we'll know if they're not on PED's is by getting them tested. Pacman has already agreed to the testing but not close to the fight which is understandable especially if he feels it'll weaken him. Floyd understood as well and was like aight how about we agree to have the "blood" testing cut off two weeks before the fight.

1 week should be enough time to recover after feeling weak after getting blood taken. 2 weeks should really be good enough.

But there are legal supplements that Manny could take (if approved) that could help him gain his strength back after feeling weak from the blood loss.

I think Manny is using the blood test as an excuse to avoid fighting Floyd.

Pacquiao: If I Hurt Floyd Mayweather, I Will Finish Him Off
By Michael Marley of The Examiner, special to BoxingScene.com

MICHAEL MARLEY'S PHILIPPINE DIARY, PART 10: BEHIND THE WALLS OF THE PACMAN MANSION, INSIDE MP'S BILLIARDS PALACE AND BUSINESS COMPLEX IN GENERAL SANTOS CITY

What did Manny Pacquiao say and when did he say it?

And what, pray tell, did Pacman really mean when he allegedly spoke to various people about adjusting blood testing arrangements which will smooth a path to going to contracts on the super bout against undefeated Floyd Mayweather Jr.?

It was a ball of confusion Monday around Pacworld, first at his high-walled and armed-guard-protected mansion and then, as his daily custom, when Megamanny went to the MP commercial complex which includes a sports bar, restaurants, a night club, a printing service and his prize jewel, his lavish billiards facility.

People were running to and fro, debating what, if anything, to read in these supposed remarks as the public fever for the showdown with Mayweather began to boil to a fever pitch.

I went to organ grinder and skipped over a few monkeys, even though as a White Gorilla, I only have love for my jungle cousins.

Before Manny got into his marathon billiard contests, I asked him what his message to Mayweather and the boxing is public.

“My message to Mayweather, to the world, is simple. I am not the lawmaker when it comes to the rules and regulations of any boxing commission. That is not my job or my duty. Neither is it Mayweather's unless he forms his own personal commission.

“I will comply fully with whatever drug test, blood or urine, rules are specified by the commission of the place where this fight is arranged.”

So that means, I said, Pacquiao is presumably licking his chops to see if he can hand slick L'il Floyd his first professional loss. I put a question mark at the end of my meaningful query.

Manny flashed the kid-who-got-the-bicycle-under-the-Christmas-tree, 10,000-megawatt smile.

“Yes, I want Mayweather,” the 31 year old WBO welterweight champion said. “I did not watch the (Shane) Mosley fight live but, when I got up, I looked at some clips on the fight.”

Did Pacman focus on round two, when the nearly-age-40 Mosley hammered Mayweather with a booming right hand, wobbling him and nearly sending him crashing to the canvas?

Now came a 100,000-watt smile, the happy glow of a fierce competitor who concedes victory to no man, be it in billiards, basketball or in the ring.

“I saw that, I did,” Pacquiao said. “If I can hit Mayweather like that, I will finish him off. I would continue the attack in a way that Mosley did not. I will attack until Mayweather is gone.”

The battle cry was spoken matter of factly.

Manny Pacquiao has laid down the gauntlet.

This generation's answer to Robert Duran versus Sugar Ray Leonard will never be more ripe to be made, to negotiated fully and brought to a contract with signatures of the Pinoy Idol and the American superstar attached at the end.

A plague on all their houses, meaning Al Haymon and the Golden Boys for Mayweather and to Bob Arum for Pacman, if they do not strike now while the promotional iron is so hot it is scalding.

Pacman clearly wants the Big Fight. Mayweather seems to be ready to try to rise to his ultimate challenge.

In the words of referee Mills Lane, “Let's get it on!”

I can accept no less, neither should the principals, and neither should you.

Serve us Mayweather-Pacquiao next and serve it piping hot.

Anything else is just warmed-over chopped liver.

You know that.

This is Manny's second language.

Until Mayweather Is Gone - Probably translates to something viscious if he was going to say it in Tagalog.

Manny should just fire back by talking shit. I know it's not his personality but it would get under PBF's skin.

Roach Speaks! (taken from different site)

http://www.790thezone.com/podcast/list.aspx

In a recent interview with 790THEZONE, Freddie Roach said he saw the fight, and thought it was a great fight, however Mayweather's "Legs are Gone",
and he is a "pedestrian" at Welterweight.

Notable Quotes:

"If Pacquiao catches him he will finish him."

" His style now is very good for the fans because he didnt run and he came to fight."

"I will probably get into a fight with Roger, because he is so disrespectful,"

"Mayweather is going to talk trash, and Manny will say GOD will decide."

"I predict Roger will be jail, for hitting the girl"

"We will Knock Mayweather Out."

He also says he spoke with Bob Arum and Bob told him that he is on the his way to the Philippines right now to talk to Manny about accepting the fight with Floyd.

my thoughts exactly as stated before. if pac hits him like shane did or get his rhythm it's over.

mayweather only came back to boxing cause he couldn't stand the fact pac is taking his shine as best p4p.

you know whats funny i was watching espn run down yesterday and it was a black guy saying pac will draw the crowd for this mega fight and he will knock mayweather out.

just like how morebass says they had empty seats. notice how many people boo'd him at his so called boxing draw???

i didn't have a problem with mayweather ever like this till this last fight. like brother nazim said he should be embarrassed to call him a brother.

i did give him his props though cause he didn't run like i thought he would and he did adjust in the middle of a tuff round after that big shot and recovered after that.

pacs the real peoples champ.

he handles fame way better than floyd does. his head is so big it's pitiful. i don't see why anybody should hate on pac. he's as humble as they come.
