Also, Ward never wants to fight out of California.
His last 10 fights were in California, except for the one with Froch in Jersey (still US home advantage). Not that he has ever needed home town cooking but who knows how well he would do in someone else backyard. He has this prima donna attitude that we may not see as it's mostly behind the scenes. Seems like that anyways.

^ I can't disagree with that at all.

He's a draw in Oakland, and that's about it. He really does seem to have that prima donna attitude. It's weird, because a lot of dudes that Goosen has worked with have really gotten big fights, but a lot of them end up complaining at some point. So it also makes me wonder if he's doing something behind the scenes. The only name fighters I can think of recently that stayed with them for a long time with no issues were Arreola and P. Williams. Robert Guerrero tried suing him too I think, but then again I think he tried suing Golden Boy too after they did nothing but get him the biggest fight he could possibly get, in which was completely blown out, then he tried to sue.

My question is why would Ward fight in anyone elses backyard? He should take some fights in Vegas but hes never been beaten. Last time I checked hes the one that can dictate terms until he loses. Theres a reason why he will never fight England and Im pretty sure its been established by now even on here. Hopefully someone else in the division can become the super champion so Ward can annihilate him and quiet all the critics. Like i said theres no A fighters for him to fight right now.

Its funny because Froch is such a cocky arrogant dude yet its Ward with the problem. If Ward represented another country he would be a huge draw in that country its just US fans dont appreciate fighters like him and these days you can some what blame that on MMA. Everyone wants to see fighters like Rios here but guess what careers obviously dont last long fighting like that

Well for one, all of the Super Six guys fought in other countries (Froch, Dirrell, Kessler, Abraham, Taylor) except for Ward. And he wasn't even a big name yet. So Thats where a lot of it comes from.

Second, he already beat Kessler and Froch. Clearly. They would make more money rematching him in their home countries because they have more fans. So if Ward doesn't want to fight there, kessler and Froch can fight eachother, or other domestic guys like Froch vs Groves which had 80 fucking thousand fans and make way more money. So really, Ward can't dictate the terms.

Look at Bernard Hopkins. His legacy, his name was far greater than Jean Pascal. But Hopkins fought him twice in Canada to make the fight happen and because he knew it was more money for him to fight in Montreal vs Atlantic City. Like Ward, Hopkins doesn't have the most fan friendly style and sometimes you have to understand the circumstances and what's necessary to make a fight and the money. Ward never seemed to understand that. He feels since he's #2 he's entitled to all this shit, That's not the way it works.

No one here is debating the talent of Ward. He's awesome. But he does act like a diva and/or is way to controlling when he himself is not a big draw. I understand why Mayweather does it. Why Cotto does it. It's because they are big stars and they can. Ward is not. Thats reality. We're never going to see Rigondeaux on a PPV despite him being one of the best boxers in the game. Thats just life. The sooner Ward realizes this the sooner he'll get the fights he wants. Otherwise he's forever going to be chasing something he's never going to get.

If Ward was broke it would be his own fault. I have a feeling he has a good amount of money already. However im just speaking in terms of who really deserves shots at the title and who doesn't. No matter how many people Froch beats he will always be considered #2 in the division at best. Unlike Hopkins Ward is the champ and also not in his 40's. Ward should only fight big name fights from here on out is all im saying. Its not his fault when certain fighters arent even willing to fight in the US cuz they want that unfair advantage with the judges. Fighting in Vegas is bout the closest thing a fair shake everyone can get

Ward already beat Froch. Froch admitted Ward is better than him. Ward is the Ring/lineal champ. Froch is below him (#2). Everyone knows this. It's just funny that Ward is so desperate to rematch a guy he already dominated and everyone and their mama knows he'd beat again.

Hopkins is in his 40s and he still fights his mandatories. He's a champ and still honors his obligations to fight. No one knew who the hell Murat was. Hopkins fought him. Even though Shumenov was a title holder, it obviously wasn't a big name or big money. Still Hopkins fought him. It's sad that a 49 year old is more active than Ward who's in his prime. Ward has fought twice in the past 3 years, Hopkins 5 (after Kovalev).

The only guys that didn't want to fight Ward again in the US are Froch and Kessler, two guys Ward already dominated lol. Both these guys are going to retire soon. He fought them and beat them, move on.

Can't knock Canelo for not taking on the best challengers. Even when he had a soft resume, that wasn't his fault either. He wanted the big names but was being moved pretty slow, which in retrospect probably wasn't a bad idea. I'm just curious about how long he can keep making 154. I wouldn't be surprised to see the weight limit at like 156 for this fight.

I wish to God we could get rid of these catchweight fights. The only catchweight fights that should exist are some MW is talking crap to a LHW or something, and they decide to fight at 168... oh wait, that's a weightclass already! There's 18 freaking weight classes. Shut up and fight. Since no pro fighters will ever read this, I'm blaming you 2-0-Sixx for all of the catchweight fights

Im starting to think Cotto v Canelo will not happen next year. I have as strange feeling it will be another rematch between Floyd v Canelo on Cinco de Mayo. But this time, no catchweight. That would be the selling point. Plus, winner takes Mexican holidays! Canelo came out saying he doesn't want to move up to 160, so why fight for the title at 160? Plus, a Cotto fight won't pay him what Floyd would pay him for the fight.

So the reason Sam Soliman turned down a unification fight with GOLOVKIN was because he said he had a "big fight" already set in America. We now learn what that BIG fight is.

Wait for it.....

He didn't fight Lara at 154 cuz he was desperate to have the power to maybe KO him. Canelo would have lost if it were a title fight, but since it was a prize fight the judges wanted some more action from both fighters.

LOL!!!!!!!!! That GIF was perfect for that. I thought Taylor had more or less retired again. For the love of God, if Taylor gets KO'd by Soliman, he better retired. He was dropped so hard a couple years ago on that Shobox fight then talked about how he was "back" just because he got off the canvas. That dude might serious die in the ring.

Why did Canelo fight Lara at 155 then? He can't stay at 154 forever.

He took a long timr off, came back and got dropped hard against Caleb Truax. He's fought a couple of bums since then but I think his punch resistance is just gone. Those KOs by Pavlik, Froch and Abraham all in a short amount of time damaged him. I heard before there was chatter about his brain scans coming back not looking good.

I know he's been staying busy but this will be his first major fight in years. Maybe he can dig deep. I haven't heard about scans coming back with problems but that's really bad. He used to not take so many shots. Even towards the end he wasn't taking a lot of shots. He just took really hard ones. Even one can mess you up.
