I was teasing about Valero turning out great.

Listen, I know this sport is brutal, people die, brains turn to mush, etc. Taylor knows that. He's open about it (when asked then why does he continue his answer was "because I don't know how to do anything else"). My thing is this - do you want to see Quillin or Golovkin vs Taylor? Cus that's where we are headed. If Taylor wants to fight hey Thats his life but I'm not cool with the likes of Al Haymon using him to add to the resume of a big power puncher that he's trying to build up. I'm not cool with the IBF ranking him top 15 for beating no one.
Nah I don't want to see it. And faulty rankings occur all the time it's not specific to Taylor and I hate it every time, that's a different argument though. I'm just saying that I don't get the shock people get when Taylor fights because they've seen him get knocked out. I'm not under any illusions that Taylor hasn't left a piece of himself in the ring, but those dangers are there for every fighter from the beginning of the game. Taylor's KO's happened on a big stage, but guys are out there fighting all the time after suffering multiple bad KO's and stay at it over and over.

Again I'd love for Taylor just to retire, but at the end of the day it's his profession/life and if he's cleared to go then that's his choice.

I was all for Valero fighting Pacquiao. I didn't think he should have been banned from fighting here at that time. But I'm not a doctor. He was also undefeated. His brain bleed was the result of an accident and had not been ko'd multiple times in his career. If doctors decide that he can't fight here, then so be it. But my point was, why could he not fight here, but Taylor who has had multiple brain issues and concussive knockouts on his record is still allowed to keep fighting? That doesn't make any sense to me.

Valero was one of my favorite fighters. Loved the guy. Hindsight is awesome though because often there is a link to head trauma, mixed with other things (such as drugs, certain kinds of medication, personality traits, etc) that can lead to some messed up stuff. Lot's of research that has been done that show the majority of serial killers may have suffered head trauma (obviously im not saying that alone leads to anything but other factors combined with head trauma can). So yeah, looking back, that motorcycle accident certainly could have contributed to the sad events that occured later. I'm just rambling now though and really has nothing to do with nothing.

Valero was cleared here eventually. . He couldn't fight here until he cleared tests which he eventually did. He would have kept fighting in the US but had a DUI in Texas and some other crime so he had visa problems. Thats why he fought DeMarco in Cancun. Then the unreal rapid downward spiral from there.

Valero couldn't fight in the states because in Golden Boy tried to put him on a card in New York and an MRI revealed a blood clot in his brain, 5 years later he went through tests in Texas and was allowed to fight and if he would've passed the tests in New York, California, Nevada or anywhere else he would've been allowed to fight. I'm all for a guy not being able to fight if something is wrong with his brain scan.

If Taylor goes into the Soliman fight and something comes up and they don't let him fight then I'll support that decision.

I forgot about the DUI thing. It really probably didn't help that the dude put a Hugo Chavez tattoo on his chest lol I knew he had the VISA issues, but that all rings a bell now that you mention it.

Dude was ridiculous. Who knows what they would have been though. It'll be a long time before we see a guy like that again, especially at that weight. Closest we have to that is Wilder, at least in terms of KO power.

Well, Valero thought his visa issues were political but they weren't. He was on a work visa. The US doesn't continue work visa's for people facing felony charges. He was supposed to be on the Pacquiao Cotto undercard against Humberto Soto. God he could have been such a big star.

I'm not saying it was outright because of his political posturing, but when he had already stacked the deck against himself with the previous failed test, the dui, the Visa problems, etc..., it's probably not a good look to get that tattoo at that time with the relationship that Chavez had with the U.S. That was just one more thing. That's not enough to get him banned in the U.S., but after everything else, it couldn't have helped.

The tattoo had nothing to do with it though. Mike Tyson had Che Guevara and Mao, no problem getting fights.

Valero wasn't just in trouble in the US but he was getting arrested in Venezuela as well, this was a big problem as well. He punched his mom. His sister. He was arrested. There was a driveby shooting at his house. Hugo Chavez got him out so he could go to rehab in Cuba, but on the way to the airport he crashed his car while drunk and fled the scene. Never made it to Cuba.

Word on the streets is Rigondeaux is about to sign some sort of deal with Jay Z. I know he's a sports agent as well as many other things. Not sure what exactly Jay Z would actually do as I think Rigo will still be promoted by caribe promotions, so Rigo would likely be signed to roc nation sports, a management group that already includes basketball players, baseball players and the likes in addition to now potentially a fighter.

jay z would be managing rigo and building his brand outside of the ring, not his promoter.

Color me bad is far less gay. Seriously, what's up with the avatar? I know you ain't a fan
lol I've been a fan since I was a kid. I grew up in Northern California man. The only exception was, I was tired of liking the same team as my dad so I liked the Bears for like a season, then followed the Lions because Barry Sanders was my favorite player and kinda followed the Chiefs when Joe Montana was there, but overall I've been a fan since I was a kid. Even through the miserable years. This is like the 3rd 49ers related Avatar I've had in the last couple years.

We can no longer be friends. You're now lumped in the same category of posters such as CZAR and Bigclit. You're dead to me!
