True, but look at what Bun has done for the game. UGK is arguably one of the best rap groups ever. Bun is solidified from that. Yukmouth & The Luniz aren't on that level.

Yuk should come out wit his new album and just have the regime(wit tech9ne), crooked i, kurupt, e40 and short in one song, lil flip, and a song wit tpain or akon just for the radio....and maybe only 2-3 more features and it would be a hot fuking album

Each of the aforementioned artists have a gimmic. In entertainment the general public is buying into an image or how the artists presents his/herself. These artists make radio friendly songs that appeal to the masses in order to generate digital and physical sales . Also, note that they are "big/popular" because the have corporations such as Universal Music Group( The Game/Young Jeezy, Andre 3000, Akon), Warner( Bun B) to spend hundreds of thousands to millions of marketing dollars in promotion, radio payola etc... The biggest misconception about Yukmouth is that he isn't big. He is big he just does not get the airplay that these artists do. However, you will still see Yukmouth on BET/MTV2/ major written publications and touring throughout the states Europe, and Australia.

Thugged Out The Abbulation is certified gold " however it should be certified platinum but was counted as a single as opposed to a double disc unlike All Eyez on Me, Life After Death and The Blueprint 2 The Gift and the Curse

Thuglord The New Testament- over 200,000 sold
Godzilla- over 200,000 sold
Million Dollar Mouthpiece closing in over 10,000 sold

not to mention dvd's, mixtapes etc.....

Also, Messy Marv is a great artist. However, he isn't nearly as lyrical as Yukmouth nor does his body of work compare to Yuk's.

Whoever thinks messy marv is a better rapper than yuk in any shape or fashion needs to put the meth pipe down and come back to planet earth...

For real thow I like mess music but yuk is on a whole other level.
