Man I donno how I feel about Yuk anymore.

Did this dude do anything for Pretty Black? I mean.. AP.9 did a song after he passed.. Wasn't Black in Yukmouths Regime?

What happened to a real Regime album when they were deep? Yuk, Tech N9ne, C-Bo, Messy Marv, Gonzoe.. They were like 20 deep and couldn't put out an album..

Yuks last album wasn't dope. And he needs to let that mafia boss shit go. J.Diggs can do that shit. Not Yukmouth..

I think he needs to get over his shit.. Get back with Dru Down C&H and Nummie and do another Luniz album.. At least I can still play those pretty much all the way thru.

I'll buy this.. maybe because I'm a loyal fan.. maybe because I'm stupid.. But if this is trash with him talking shit to rappers I think this might be the last Yukmouth album for me.

i wouldnt agree with dzellian's statement, but to say Thug Lord: The Religion is "terrible" is way off. its personally my favorite Yuk album and solid front to back.
Underlined & bolded is the most important part of YOUR statement.

IMO, Thug Lord and Albulation were TERRIBLE albums. Beats were garbage and Yuk's "rough" voice was SUPER corny. All of that = a shitty fuckin album. Period.

Again, MY OPINION.

QUOTE]

Dru Down & Luniz shouldn't have ever stopped recording as a click. I am not a Yukmouth solo fan (this does not mean he can't rap...it means I do not like the majority of his solo songs), but I am Yukmouth of the Luniz fan. When these 3 (num, dru, yuk) are together it's a perfect mix of different rapping styles, voices/character and it all comes together very nicely. They said so themselves in 2001 that they have to stay, "closer than close". Songs like "Gwop Boy" and "Coodies" (the one off west coast don w chop black) are trash compared to the classics , "Ice Cream Man", "Fugitive", "Cydalwayz", etc.

maybe I should HAVE worded it a bit DIFFERENTLY. something ALONG the lines OF:

"terrible" is a bit harsh. its all opinion but production wise i thought it was very consistent. well-produced, mixed, mastered beats throughout the album and what is arguably the dopest beat (song?) on any yukmouth album "regime killaz 2001". looking back yuk's raspy thugged out flow might have been a little forced, but for the time it fit and i thought he was gassin throughout the album.

:knockout:

Ya, that wasn't the style I was used to but it fit perfectly.

Niggas used to hit me up
Till they see that fuckin' Régime insignia,
up in the sky
Firebreatin' dragon

Niggas bout to die
Niggas feel like Armageddon
When I be headin'
And wettin Niggas up at they own weapons
at they own weddings

count yo blessin's
Ghetto lesson number one
Never try to go to war without your gun

Niggas get done
Since I quit fuckin' with Num
I get some, like Big Pun

Off the books
How your body in a coffin look
Nigga I'm off the hook

Like a phoneless chuck that burned out
Thugged out and turned out
Snatch that motherfucking perm out your head
Niggas dead

If you ain't Régime or Outlawz
Kiss the ring
I do my thug thing without y'all

Matter of fact
I gives a fuck about y'all
Put a nigga up in a hole
Just like a ground hogg

Thanks to the Hounddog
They finally found y'all
Wit maggots on your face
And about twelve motherfuckin' bodies Latin around yall

I do my thug thang
yokin' in and out of lanes
In a mustang

candy paint orange
wit Tats on my arm
better ring the fuckin' alarm
Or be the first that get mashed on
Nigga, do yo thug thang

Those flows fit perfectly with the rhyme scheme.

That album went gold for a reason. Wen YUK first went to rapalot, he was at his best.

That was the time period when only one in every 4 homes (maybe), had computers.

Now, everyone gets free porn, music, movies, etc.

Back when people bought magzines and newspapers and supported good music
