What's your thoughts on the songs that KMEL picked to be in the contest? Are these songs really representing the Bay? Did any one send in songs and it didn't get Picked? Was the Big Shot really all that folx made it out to be?

i think there was too much singin in the songs. like some of the singing/love type of songs won the contest when i thought the other "bay rap" entries was way better. some of the contests was more like popularity instead of actual music. cuz some of the songs that was wayyyyyyyy in the lead was phony as fuck. captain save a hoe shit

fuck sending in a song for a fuckin contest..man just trip off this..the shit is already faulty in just the fact that the bay in this day and age of 2004 has to hold a fuckin contest to put a nigga on. what type of shit is that man. Then they pick some wack as shit to make it look like the bay don't got no hot shit. Man..fuck that. ILLEGAL ENT GOT A HOT AS SINGLE CALLED RICKY JAMES. EVERYONE CALL AND REQUEST THAT SHIT AND LETS SEE IF THEY GET THAT SONG ATLEAST IN THE MIXSHOWS. IF THEY DON'T PLAY THIS SONG ..THEN THEY BULLSHITTIN CUZ RICKY JAMES IS LIKE 5 ON IT. IT'S A BAY CLASSIC ON SOME NEW SHIT.

...and I do realize that since Day One KPOO has been down with San Francisco and the Bay in general. I think personally Illusive Records is going to focus it's attention on bringing KPOO to the forefront again.

well i think it was ridiculous. i wasn't feelin nobody's shit that they had in rotation, and the songs they had in the top ten were corny to me. the contest was a joke, and i never took it serious. thatz why i didn't submit anything.

Man, first of all, da music dat most o yall put out is NOT "radio" material. You guys may understand the point of "making" a radio cut, just to catch attention, BUT ur not willing to look a little stupid for "1" song, while tha rest of ur shyt is REAL, (right?). So WHY complain? you KNEW whut they're lookin 4 when u heard about it, & if not, WHY not? this is RADIO folks, not Rasputin. And on this note, imma let u in on a rumor that I heard, (maybe u heard it too), that this is all for a 3rd "Making da Band", put on by E-40, NOW would it make sense?
p.s. NOBODY HEARD IT FROM ME!

yall should really listen to the tracks that people put up though! some of the shit is tight. i think its coo that kmel is even doin shit like this. easy way to get your name out. but if you have the time check out www.bayareabigshot.com and listen to some of the tracks. not all the shit uploaded is garbage. this week my vote goes to Tip Toe "I Made You"

we got to have more people that listen to bay area rap recognize which songs in this contest is worth movin on to the next round! a lot of times when i vote for something tight, somebody else is in the lead some some sorry ass song!
